The focus of the course is to analyse the religious phenomenon in the context of a secular, lay and globalised society in the light of the most recent sociological theories and empirical research, the social change in K. Mannheim. In particular it will concentrate on the role played by inter-religious dialogue in a context of growing cultural pluralism in Europe and the Mediterranean area. The course aims to deepen the professional discipline from the basic concepts and the specific nomenclature and to decline the theoretical references in relation to the practice and the professional methodology in relation to the social worker's principal stakeholders: the individual and the family context, the referential community context and its combinations, the public organizations, the tertiary sector's agencies and the voluntary organizations.
The aim is to arouse students' knowledge and analysis tools that will enable them to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge, in order to obtain an ongoing training and an empirical learning.

-social complexity and integration and inclusion processes,
-individual\social needs and personal / community / institutional resources.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND FINAL EVALUATION
The course consists of lectures aimed at the theoretical presentation of content and the use of active methodology for experiential exercises about theoretical and methodological content, to develop reflective skills and tools for the conceptualization of experience.
The plan also provides checks on intermediate processes of learning, through classroom discussions and any written assignments that will contribute to the formulation of the final evaluation.

The course is divided into two parts.
The first part analyzes the concepts of social policy and welfare system. Then are studied the ways in which social change and the transformation of needs affect on set of social policies and is presented the framework of the social protection system actors. They also describe the areas of social policy (security, health, care and social services). It 'also introduced the transition from welfare state to the welfare mix and the concept of local welfare.
The second part retraces the legislation on social services, with particular attention to the 1970-2010 period. In this context, a specific study is dedicated to the laws and regulations that led to the organization of an integrated system of services and social interventions.

Training goals
First trainee-ship is the first field experience for the students, in the services in which social workers apply themselves. In this path, students have a double support, from both an external social worker and an academic tutor.
Specific training goals will be:
- let the student thinks on her/his own motivations and expectations on her/his university choices and on her/his professional future;
- let grow the student's capacity to reflect on the relations dynamics, with other social operators, users, and with all the others relations that she/he could start during the progress of the social service where she/he is inserted. Then share her/his worries, doubts, and expectations on her/his experience;
- consolidate the capacity of the student to work in team and to learn through the group exercitations;
- promote the connection between theory and practice and stimulate in the students an exploratory approach with curiosity and interest in the profession and in the social ambit;
- encourage the comparison, the sharing and the discussions of situations and events in common verified during the practical experience of the students.

During the talks and the lectures, the operative reality and the territorial distribution of the services who gave the availability to host trainees, will be showed to the students; lectures on specific aspects of trainee-ship will be made, to promote the pursue of training goals.

SOCIAL RIGHTS AND THE ETHIC DIMENSION OF HELPFUL RELATIONSHIP

Training objectives of the course
The course aims to provide an updated and comprehensive framework of social rights, especially in relation to socio-political transformations which have been invested for several years now, that they required a deep rethinking ethics in particular.
The course will address the concept of social rights in public law, focusing in particular on the historical genesis of social rights and the role of the State in their process of affirmation. Will then addressed the issue of social rights in our legal system, starting from constitutional text, to allow the student to gain an overview of the effectiveness of those rights in our sorting, with regulatory and jurisprudential references.
Some items also will be provided for understanding the development of social rights in the liberal State, as will be analyzed the issues related to the affirmation of the cd. "new rights", as well as the effect of the economic crisis and budgetary constraints on social Status (in the latter case through a special reference to the most recent jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court). Will be the analysis of the regulatory framework, and institutional administration on social assistance, starting with the framework law on social services (l. 328/2000).
The course aims to deepen the content of social rights, operating from a theoretical analysis of the principles of sorting the concrete work that the social worker will conduct, with particular reference to the protection of the person's right to autonomy and membership group and usability guarantee rights.
In this perspective, the course will address, inter alia, the rights of individuals, taking into consideration in particular the issues relating to disability rights.

3. The constitutional guarantee of social rights.
4. The role of the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court in the path of affirmation of social rights.

6. The foundation of "new rights" into the Constitution: their recognition and effectivity.
7. The issue of "new rights" in the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court.
8. Conditional and unconditional social rights
9. Social rights and budgetary constraints: the guarantee of essential performance levels and balance with the constitutional principle of a balanced budget.
10. Social solidarity and the role of the "helpful relationship" in the public sector: the assessment of needs , the course of action , the instruments of social workers .
11. Private social assistance in framework law No. 328/2000 on social services.
12. The social services in Italy and the provision of welfare benefits: social solidarity, voluntary and third sector as an alternative to the impossibility of implementation of public policies and social welfare in the age of global economic crisis.

The course analyzes the concepts of social policy and welfare system. Then are studied the ways in which social change and the transformation of needs affect on set of social policies and is presented the framework of the social protection system actors. The focus of the course is to analyse the religious phenomenon in the context of a secular, lay and globalised society in the light of the most recent sociological theories and empirical research, the social change in K. Mannheim. In particular it will concentrate on the role played by inter-religious dialogue in a context of growing cultural pluralism in Europe and the Mediterranean area. The course will put forward suggestions as to how to carry out a survey on religion.

The goal of training is to enable students to become aware of the diversity of the contributions produced by contemporary sociology, both on the micro-sociological side and the macro-sociological one, and therefore by considering two main aspects: the social interaction on the one hand, the social change on the other.
-Contents (subject):
The course aims at offering an overview of contemporary international sociological theory and will focus mainly on contributions from the second half of the Twentieth Century and the beginning of the Twenty-First Century, but not only on that: actually, even if we will start from the Fifties of the last century, in rare cases we will mention some previous reference points.
-Requirements:
To have passed the first-year sociological examinations and of Social Research Methodology.
-Teaching methods:
The course consists of classroom lectures. In some occasions, experts in a particular topic will be invited to participate in lessons dealing with a specific subject, in order to offer students useful in-depth teaching.
-Assessments:
In the presence during the lectures. Final oral examinations at the end of the course will take place during planned regular sessions in June-July, September, January-February and so on, in the dates, hours and classrooms published on the electronic page of professor Spreafico. The form of an intermediate practice exercise on some reading materials will be decided during the course.

THE HISTORY OF SOCIOLOGICAL THOUGHT
Target
The course seeks to investigate the historical and empirical relationship that the founders of sociological thought have established with their time. Through their analysis attempts to identify the tools they are given to the understanding of the present. Only on this basis it will be possible to devise a new contemporary sociology.
