( syllabus)
The teaching points to ensure the knowledge about the of the «active citizenship» phenomenon, either at the conceptual level or under the point of view of the concrete actions of the social organizations which are recognized as the actors playing the leading role in the process of change within social, political, economic systems and institutions at the aim of promoting and protecting human and civil rights, supporting the most vulnerable in society and and taking care for Common Goods. The course will be structured into three parts: First of all the teaching historicizes the evolutionary lines and the main theoretical and conceptual issues about the citizenship category in the context of the European history of the XIX-XXI centuries and of the contemporary historical, philosophical, political and legal thought; The next part focuses above the identification and the description of the «active citizenship» organizations among public and private actors, in reference to any actions made with either the advocacy promoters or services managers and with particular regard to their role in the transformation of democratic regimes and of the welfare systems. To this end, the course examines both the Italian and European context in which these organizations act; the same active citizenship players will narrate their practical experiences in classroom. The course also aims to analyze the key role of the School in promoting active citizenship policies and developing a cultural underpinning for a democratic, effective and supportive European identity. After a first theoretical approach to the theme of citizenship and coexistence in the European school, attention will be paid to the innovative teaching strategies that have effectively developed best practices and exercises covering a broad range of topics such as defining terms associated with citizenship and human rights education, children’s rights, democracy at school, tolerance and the problem of low educational achievements of pupils from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, often resulting in early dropouts. The experience gained through the course activities are expected to help students educators and social workers to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to effectively contribute to the active citizenship.

HISTORY OF WOMEN
(objectives)
The course is divided into lectures and seminars, and traces the role of women in contemporary times. We examine, in particular, in the nineteenth century, ie in the first two centuries of modernity, which is also the founding, processes and movements of female emancipation, from the conquest of civil rights and the demand for access to political rights. In this direction, specific attention takes the suffragist movement. A second important issue addressed concerns over the image of women as well as self representation as perception of the civil and ecclesiastical institutions. Another issue concerns the study of sexuality in the nineteenth century social and health studies, but also in much of the literature, mainly concerning the universe of comfort women, and prostitutes. The analysis of regulated prostitution, carried on in brothels, can penetrate the complex mechanisms, legal sanctions, but also social, health and cultural interconnecting civil society and state.
-
AZARA LILIOSA
( syllabus)
The course, which includes a historical-conceptual survey in the context of post-unification Italy, aims to retrace the history of the female condition in contemporary modernity, through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In particular, the nineteenth century marks the birth of feminism with its structural changes, wage labor, individual civil rights, the right to education. It is presented as the century that has rethought the life of women as the development of a personal story subject to a specific, socially elaborated collective regulation. Through the two events that mark the nineteenth century, it opens with a revolution and ends with a war, both call women to the collection, allowing men to play a subtle game between inclusion / participation and the exclusion / repulsion of women from problems affecting the state and the nation. First, an investigation is planned on the relationship between the political and cultural perception of the feminine in the passage between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In doing so, we will see how, from the intersection between science and cultural prejudices, we have come to a definition, in many ways monolithic of the woman-type. The 20th century ratifies an inescapable and continuous process towards the emancipation of women. Overwhelmed by war, revolution or dictatorship, they are spectators and actresses of a formidable upheaval between genders. Western women, long after men, have access to modernity: the century of total war, the century of genocide that has no mercy for the female gender, but also the century of technology that provides women and men with better health and increased health longevity, plus other levels of training and new ways of living marked by urbanization and the multiplication of goods and services. The topics dealt with concern the Great War and whether this was the age of the woman or the triumph of sexual difference; the twenties and the modern woman in the United States; the fascist patriarchy; National Socialism; the Soviet model and the conservative revolution; women in the political sphere; feminism in the 60s and 70s; procreation and bioethics. In particular, in addition to the more general Italian sexual question between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, attention will be paid to the history of prostitution. Starting from the Cavour Regulation, passing through the Merlin law and reaching the examination of the phenomenon of the closure of the houses of tolerance and the year of the sexual revolution.

(objectives)
The course aims to present the student with some basic concepts related to simple regression, sampling and statistical inference. The general problems of multivariate statistical analysis are also introduced, also with reference to multiple linear regression. In the course the students will be introduced to the use of statistical software for computers, through which to construct tables and graphs and apply, even in research contexts, some of the techniques learned, solving problems in new areas, inserted in interdisciplinary contexts. By managing complex knowledge independently, the student will learn to make critical judgments and communicate the results obtained to specialist and non-specialist interlocutors.

Course program
The course introduces to the knowledge of cultural and religious identities through a scientific approach. It aims to analyze the cultural and religious phenomenon with the help of the theoretical and empirical tools that are typical of sociology. It has been noted that today more than ever the cultural-religious dimension is felt, in different social environments and under different reading lenses, as a reference to be considered in globalized societies marked by rapt social changes. We will review classical and contemporary scholars who have devoted ample space to the topic, and we will focus in particular on multiculturalism and religious pluralism. A space will be dedicated to the value dimension and to the diffusion of the perception of the loss of values especially in western societies, characterized by a pervasive relativism (values and morals) and by pluralism (cultural, ethical, religious).
The objectives of the course are:
- Identify interpretative keys for understanding the experience of cultural and religious factors in the social actors of the beginning of the third millennium; - Know the different schools of thought and sociological approaches regarding the themes of the laboratory; - Know and understand the phenomena of values of one's socio-religious-cultural environment reference.
