On the one hand, the course focuses on the study of the legal status of the child as an essential and indispensable condition for its protection, in the family and social context, on the other hand, the study of deviance factors and corrective institutional interventions. His figure, as a subject of the right to protection, is relevant within the analysis of the legal and social aspects to be referred to the protection of the freedom of each individual.

The course aims to reflect on the teaching and learning theories and practices in difficult situations. In particular, we want to promote and consolidate a critical reflection aimed at the professional practice of the educator and, at the same time, to promote knowledge and methodological skills aimed at taking care of special educational needs. To this end, some aspects of the relationship between disability and communication will be addressed, paying particular attention to creative strategies such as autobiography and art therapy, methodologies able to support the individual and group imaginative activity aimed at integration.

• Know how to read and to comment an argumentative and literary text in a critical way. • To experience the “estranging” nature of the poem’s language. • To acquire a reading method of the text, not impressionistic but founded , as much as possible, on the text’s literal meaning. • Know how to link different knowledge in the text analysis. • To know some fundamental periods of the world history of the 20th and 21st centuries and to link these periods with educational iusses. • To acquire cognitive, critical and creative skills.

To define intercultural teaching as a form of educational mediation between the socio-cultural condition of the learning subjects and the global dimension of knowledge, economy, politics, society and culture. To identify, therefore, methods, tools and contents of an international and internationalist perspective in education that includes the study of the history of the world, of the working classes, of migrants, of women, of minorities. To define the theoretical and practical field of intercultural education in relation to some themes of the Marxist educational perspective: the omnilateral man, the polytechnic formation, the unity of work and education, the universality of formation, education as a factor of overcoming of commodification and alienation, internationalism and the processes of globalization. Read and understand a literary text in an intercultural perspective and experiment with the intercultural teaching paths of literature.
