EDUCATION FOR HUMAN RESOURCES AND ORGANISATIONS 12 CREDITS LM 57
(objectives)
The course aims at developing the following general learning objectives in order to develop in students the specific knowledge, skills and expertise in the human resources areas of education and in business organizations with reference to the European perspective of lifelong learning, the VET and to the demands of continuing education. The course presents the main theoretical foundations of the organization, emphasising the educational problems (in particular the company, the organizational structure, the operating systems, the different organizational forms, the development trends of the organization), the organizational shape of central structures: the central management, the personnel function (organizational structure and role); emerging perspectives in lifelong learning in observance of the Italian and European legislation and an analysis of issues related to adapting workers’ skills; an analysis of training sub-systems: training needs analysis, delivery and evaluation of results, design of the training process, basic training, specialized training, management training, different training methods and reporting systems.

The course called “Company Organisation and Life Long Learning” aims at providing students with a systematic approach to Company Organisation with regard to both macro and micro organisational dimensions, to understand development trends, main themes and basic knowledge of business management and practice. At the end of the course, students will be able to: Highlight the key concepts of company demands and especially the role of "continuous change management" pervading the current economic and social context; Know how a Company works and which is the role of individuals in it; Analyse main theoretical aspects of Company Organisation, organisational structures and procedures, with reference to chosen strategies and to markets, products and services. Examine the function of Life Long Learning and its role to build efficient organisational structures and a good management of Human Resources; Understand the role of Human Resource’s management and all aspects related to it, as an element helping Companies handle innovation and future technical and structural change.

DIGITAL STORYLEARNING. STORYTELLING AND LEARNING
(objectives)
The course aims to: - encourage a democratization path (meaning the actual accessibility) of the training, including the many students who can’t attend classes for personal and business reasons: the blended organization of lessons (with training activities in presence and online) allows the active participation of all students. In a virtuous double bond, the sharing of the topics of study and preparation for a conscious and ethical use of the network are facilitated. This is in line with the Bill of Rights on the Internet approved by Parliament on 07.28.2015: The Public institutions must ensure the creation, use and dissemination of knowledge in the Internet as well accessible and usable by any person; - enhance the centrality of storytelling in learning processes and promoting narrative skills: telling is always talk about, and the mind is made of stories; the structure that connects the elements of reality is a network of stories (Bateson); each story is a representation that connects and builds links around the construct of narrative thinking. - provide operational tools to make the stories being digital: designing and implementing Digital storytelling with social networks, the Prezi software and the Moodle platform of the Department and; - promote the acquisition of e-skills for the creation of learning paths accessible in public and private work organizations (multidisciplinary teams, working groups) and in the social communities (agencies dealing reception for minors, family houses, educators, social workers), with the aim to bring the learner to the professional post-graduate world.

The course has the following objectives: - lessons “Models and procedures in adult education” (prof. Francesco Agrusti): acquire the theoretical and methodological principles of research in adult education; define a research problem; formulate hypotheses; define data-collecting tools through the analysis of international surveys on adult education; establish critical approaches to revise the hypotheses; select problem-solving procedures; - seminar “Women and men: equal opportunities?” (dott. Paolo Campetella): analyse Mary Wollstonecraft’s book, "A vindication of the rights of women"; study the cultural and social context of the work; understand the author's biography and how it affected her approach; learn the main contributions to education in the European cultural context of the time; identify the central themes of the work; identify the relationship between women's education and social condition of the time; understand the relation between social condition and opportunities through a comparison with modern times; the contemporary society; identify innovation educational elements in the work's educational theories based on the historical, social and cultural context of the time; understand the impact of education on social development through the study of international surveys; - laboratory “Adult literacy” (prof. Francesco Agrusti): know the most relevant international comparative surveys on adult skills assessment; learn the theoretical and methodological foundations of international comparative surveys on adult learning; learn how to prepare and administer questions; interpret the results of the major international comparative surveys on adult skills assessment, with particular reference to the OECD survey PIAAC; identify diachronic perspectives in the analysis of the data available on a worldwide scale in relation to adult skills; analyse the relationship between functional literacy and ICT at the national level.

Literacy skills in adult population
Future educators, educational designers and dedicated teacher for adult learners-of age, different skills and usually discontinuous training experiences – need tools of assessment of competences validated and aimed at supporting the implementation of flexible educational strategies for continuously directing learning activities according to learners’ needs. The adult literacy course is intended to enable students to deepen existing examples, tools analysis-methodologies-the elements necessary to the understanding of educational-pedagogical work characteristics to play with adult learners. The course also aims, through individual and small groups work, to develop students’ skills related to the design, formulation and revision of open-ended questions and formulated answers literacy assessment in adulthood. In particular, the course aims to develop students ' knowledge and skills associated with the following contents: -most relevant international comparative surveys on adult skills assessment; -theoretical and methodological foundations of international comparative surveys on adult learning with specific reference to the literacy and to the definitions provided in the framework of investigations; -the preparation and administration of the questions (types of stimulus and response, administering paper and pencil and computer based, review mode, encoding open-ends); -the results of the major international comparative surveys on adult skills assessment, with particular reference to the OECD survey PIAAC; -diachronic perspectives in the analysis of the data available on a worldwide scale in relation to the skills of the adult population (OECD, UNESCO, World Bank data collections and surveys). In particular, it will propose a comparison between surveys IALS, ALL and PIAAC; -the relationship between functional literacy and ICT at the national level: critical analysis of the impact of technology on literacy and how informal and non-formal learning in adulthood.

getting to know the cultural and social context in which the book was written; understanding the author’s biographical elements that influenced the development of her critical conscience; getting to know the main contributions to the debate on education in the European cultural context of the 18th century; identifying the main topics of the book; identifying the elements that may help highlighting the relationship between education and social status of women in the specific historical context; understanding the relationship between social conditioning and women liberation opportunities through a comparison with contemporary societies; identifying the book’s educational theory, identifying its elements of novelty, interpreting and connecting them to the historical, social and cultural background; understanding the impact of education on social development in different contexts, by referring to international surveys reports.
