Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
I laureati devono conseguire conoscenze nel campo di studi definito dall’endecalogo contenuto nella direttiva 2013/55/UE, che comprende la storia dell’architettura, le discipline della rappresentazione e dell’acquisizione dei dati spaziali, la matematica, le discipline strutturali, fisico-tecniche, impiantistiche e tecnologiche, le tecniche e gli strumenti della progettazione architettonica, dal dettaglio alla dimensione urbanistica.
Tali conoscenze devono essere elaborate per sviluppare la capacità di comprendere i problemi dell’architettura nella loro complessità interdisciplinare.Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
I laureati devono essere capaci di applicare le loro conoscenze, la loro capacità di comprensione ed abilità nell’ambito del progetto di architettura, e cioè in un ampio e complesso insieme di attività professionali di base, risolvendone i problemi attraverso progetti sostenibili, ecologicamente responsabili, in un quadro di tutela del patrimonio storico-ambientale e di fattibilità tecnico-economica.Autonomia di giudizio
I laureati devono essere capaci di:
1 - utilizzare le loro conoscenze, capacità di analisi ed abilità nel campo del progetto e della cultura architettonica, integrandole con la comprensione della complessità del reale e con la consapevolezza delle responsabilità sociali ed etiche che questo esercizio comporta;
2 - maturare una propria autonomia di giudizio nell'esercizio delle proprie conoscenze, capacità di comprensione ed abilità nel campo del progetto e della cultura architettonica, evitando ogni applicazione meramente meccanica, ripetitiva o tecnicistica.
Il raggiungimento di una libera e consapevole autonomia di giudizio è un obiettivo centrale per un corso di laurea al cui centro sta il progetto architettonico, attività che chiede l'esercizio di responsabili, complesse, e spesso difficili scelte individuali; non per caso il progetto di architettura ed edilizia, anche nei ridotti limiti dimensionali e tipologici accessibili all'architetto junior, è fra le attività a cui viene attribuito un potenziale rischio sociale.
Tale obiettivo può essere perseguito soltanto attraverso un complesso sistema di interazioni disciplinari, confronti fra opinioni, pratiche di discussione e strategie di comunicazione.
Il corso di laurea risulta così strutturato al fine di far scaturire l'attività progettuale dall’interazione tra discipline miranti ad una preparazione metodologica, conoscitiva, scientifica e sociologica, e discipline che promuovono un arco di riflessioni più generalmente culturale e umanistico.
Inoltre concorrono a questo obiettivo:
- la pratica di discussioni collettive dei risultati progettuali, applicata in tutti i laboratori;
- la pratica dell'esposizione finale dei progetti in mostre pubbliche;
- la pubblicità della discussione delle tesi di laurea;
- l'uso di strumenti in rete per la comunicazione e la discussione dei lavori progettuali in itinere.
- la frequente programmazione di seminari e conferenze di docenti, critici e professionisti di valore nazionale ed internazionale;
- l'interazione e lo scambio di esperienze fra più corsi (di laurea, magistrali, di perfezionamento, master) nello stesso Dipartimento;
- gli scambi Erasmus, i viaggi di studio, ecc.;
- lo sviluppo e l'incentivo di sistemi di valutazione dei corsi e di iniziative di discussione da parte degli studenti.Abilità comunicative
Il corso di laurea deve accompagnare lo studente in un percorso di apprendimento integrato, sviluppandone il senso critico e la capacità di connessione fra le diverse conoscenze disciplinari coinvolte sia di natura tecnico-scientifica che storico-umanistica.
I laureati nella classe dovranno avere la capacità di far parte di gruppi di lavoro interdisciplinari, di saper interagire e comunicare con interlocutori di differente formazione ed esperti di altri settori, nonché di esprimere compiutamente alle differenti scale le proprie scelte e le proprie posizioni culturali.
A quest'obiettivo, sul versante della comunicazione tecnica, sono dedicati alcuni corsi e/o moduli rivolti a fornire strumenti ed aggiornamenti sul piano del disegno, della rappresentazione e del rilievo (con modalità sia tradizionali che informatiche).
Queste attività didattiche sono supportate da laboratori applicativi, quali il laboratorio informatico e il laboratorio modelli e prototipi, dotato di macchine innovative di prototipazione rapida, stampa 3D e taglio laser; ai laboratori applicativi sono connessi corsi opzionali per l’addestramento e l’aggiornamento strumentale.
In merito alla maturazione di un linguaggio specifico nella comunicazione scritta e verbale, il corso di laurea prevede:
- presentazioni scritte (elaborati di ricerca, curricula ragionati e critici delle proprie attività, ecc.), pratica intesa come essenziale elemento di valutazione d’esame o di conclusione del percorso formativo;
- presentazioni orali (con o senza supporti informatici) delle proprie proposte progettuali o teoriche, pratica intesa come essenziale elemento di valutazione o di conclusione del percorso formativo.Capacità di apprendimento
Il corso di laurea si prefigge di dotare i propri laureati di una preparazione adeguata per il futuro proseguimento nel percorso di studi magistrale e di fornire abilità progettuali tali da permettere loro un costante aggiornamento e un reale progresso conoscitivo nell'esercizio della professione, attraverso il conseguimento di capacità di comprensione di temi e linguaggi del Contemporaneo.
I laureati nella classe dovranno acquisire una appropriata cultura deontologica, basata sulla coscienza delle responsabilità verso i valori umani, sociali, culturali, urbani, architettonici e ambientali, nonché verso il patrimonio architettonico e paesaggistico.
In particolare, nel caso dell'architettura, gli studi successivi sono costituiti prima di tutto dai corsi di laurea magistrali in classe LM4, o da molti omologhi 'masters' attivati in Europa (il cui completamento costituisce la condizione essenziale per l'accesso alla professione di 'architetto europeo') nonché dai successivi corsi di perfezionamento, master e dottorati.
Vanno poi menzionati, nel campo delle discipline ed attività affini all'architettura, numerosi corsi di laurea magistrali italiani ed europei nel campo della pianificazione, del paesaggio, del design, delle arti, etc.: tutti corsi verso attività professionali non normate (o diversamente normate da quella dell'architetto), che comunque trovano nel presente corso di laurea un'indispensabile base formativa.
La strategia didattica messa in atto per puntare a tali obiettivi, facendo riferimento a quanto è stato scritto per i precedenti descrittori, vede come punti essenziali:
- l'interdisciplinarità, presente sia all'interno delle singole unità didattiche che nella complessiva articolazione del corso;
- l'interazione tra fasi operative e fasi di riflessione culturale;
- l'accentuazione della responsabilità critica nella pratica del progetto;
- l'aggiornamento prodotto dal (e cercato nel) confronto di diverse esperienze.
Il criterio essenziale per la valutazione del raggiungimento di questi obiettivi sta nello spazio che viene dato, istitutivamente, all'autonoma espressione e discussione delle proprie proposizioni, motivazioni e proposte progettuali, che ha una così gran parte nello svolgimento e nell'esame dei corsi teorici e progettuali, nonché nello svolgimento e presentazione della tesi di laurea.
In sintesi, la strategia si può riassumere in un punto essenziale: l'integrazione, presente in tutti gli aspetti e momenti del corso di studi, fra formazione, autoformazione ed informazione.Requisiti di ammissione
L'ammissione al Corso di Studio è programmata a livello nazionale ed è regolamentata da appositi Decreti Ministeriali, essendo tale Corso finalizzato alla formazione di architetto europeo ai sensi della direttiva europea 85/384/CEE e successive modifiche, e del decreto legge n.
206/2007.
In linea generale, i suddetti DM richiedono, oltre al possesso del diploma di scuola secondaria superiore (condizione necessaria per l’ammissione), la verifica obbligatoria del possesso di conoscenze di logica e cultura generale, storia, disegno e rappresentazione, matematica e fisica, e competenze disciplinari, riferite alla specificità degli studi di Architettura.

Lo studente dovrà produrre, in accordo con un docente, un portfolio/autopresentazione che sintetizzi il percorso della propria esperienza di studio con allegato un approfondimento specifico, teorico e/o applicativo, di una delle tematiche chiave emergenti dal portfolio.
Nel corso della prova finale lo studente dovrà presentare alla commissione d'esame, e discutere con essa, le competenze professionali acquisite, le attitudini maturate e gli interessi coltivati in relazione a un eventuale impegno di studio successivo, i momenti del proprio percorso che egli ritiene più significativi (cercando di evidenziare il livello di sintesi delle conoscenze disciplinari raggiunto).
Orientamento in ingresso
Le azioni di orientamento in ingresso sono improntate alla realizzazione di processi di raccordo con la scuola media secondaria.
Si concretizzano sia in attività informative e di approfondimento dei caratteri formativi dei Corsi di Studio (CdS) dell’Ateneo, sia in un impegno condiviso da scuola superiore e università per favorire lo sviluppo di una maggiore consapevolezza da parte degli studenti nel compiere scelte coerenti con le proprie conoscenze, competenze, attitudini e interessi.
Le attività realizzate e da realizzare sono le seguenti:
Orientamento nelle scuole: predisposizione del materiale.
il Dipartimento si è attivato per fissare incontri con le scuole disposte a visitare la struttura.
Innanzitutto, è stato predisposto un power point di presentazione del Dipartimento, ricalcante il format fornito dall’Ufficio Orientamento di Ateneo, adattato alle esigenze del Dipartimento.
Il power point ha prodotto un file PDF ed un video a media risoluzione, diffusi entrambi nelle scuole.
Il video è stato pubblicizzato anche sui canali social del dipartimento Facebook e YouTube ed è stato anche inviato via email all’elenco degli alunni iscritti alla GVU del 17 marzo 2022.
Incontri con le scuole
Il Dipartimento rinnova periodicamente l’invito a incontrare le scuole sulla newsletter di Orientarsi a Roma Tre.
Attualmente abbiamo avuti diversi contatti con i responsabili dell’orientamento nelle scuole.
Abbiamo ricevuto la richiesta per l'evento Salone dello studente dal Liceo Ettore Majorana di Latina.
Abbiamo partecipato, in forma telematica il 30 marzo 2022, con lezioni di Architettura, Rappresentazione e con la presentazione dell’offerta formativa.
Abbiamo incontrato gli studenti del Liceo Augusto di Roma il 9 aprile, in forma telematica, per presentare l’offerta formativa.
Salone dello Studente 2021
Dal 15 al 18 novembre l'Università Roma Tre ha partecipato al Salone dello studente organizzato da Campus Orienta in versione digitale su piattaforma Zoom.
Il Dipartimento di Architettura ha presentato l’offerta formativa il 15 novembre.
E’ stato predisposto anche un ufficio telematico, per rispondere alle domande degli studenti.
L’afflusso è stato significativo.
GVU 2022
La Giornata di Vita Universitaria presso il Dipartimento di Architettura si è svolta il 17 marzo 2022 in presenza e in forma telematica.
La modalità di svolgimento è stata modificata rispetto a quella degli anni precedenti, per permettere una maggiore partecipazione degli studenti alle attività dipartimentali, ma allo stesso tempo la forma telematica ha permesso una maggiore diffusione delle informazioni condivise.
Oltre alla presentazione dell’offerta formativa, molto spazio è stato dedicato alle presentazioni degli studenti di Architettura e al dibattito in aula magna.
Tuttavia, la maggior parte delle domande sono state fatte dagli studenti in una seconda fase, in cui gli studenti sono stati divisi in gruppi di 15 e portati a visitare gli ambienti del Dipartimento che lo rendono unico nel suo genere: Le aule studio, il laboratorio di progettazione con mostra tavole e plastici, il laboratorio modelli e prototipi, e la nuova biblioteca d’area.
E’ stato effettuato anche un tour virtuale degli spazi dipartimentali.
Gli studenti in presenza sono stati 130 circa (contenimento dell’aula Libera ridotta per misure covid).
Gli ingressi e i click in telematica sono stati 400.
OPEN DAY 2022 di ATENEO
Orientarsi a Roma Tre si svolgerà nei primi giorni di luglio.
Ma al momento non si hanno ancora informazioni di dettaglio.
Orientarsi a Roma Tre nel 2021 si è svolta in modalità mista in presenza al Teatro Palladium per l’evento inaugurale e a distanza dalle aule dipartimentali per la presentazione dell’offerta formativa dei dipartimenti.
Il portale dell’orientamento realizzato nel 2020 è stato aggiornato e ne è stata realizzata una versione in inglese: orientamento.uniroma3.it.
Rappresenta la manifestazione che riassume le annuali attività di orientamento in ingresso e si svolge ogni anno alla fine dell’anno accademico.
L’evento accoglie, perlopiù, studenti romani che partecipano per mettere definitivamente a fuoco la loro scelta universitaria.
Durante la manifestazione viene presentata l’offerta formativa e sono promossi tutti i principali servizi di Roma Tre, le segreterie didattiche e la segreteria studenti.
Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali per l’Orientamento (PCTO) 2021/2022
L’alternanza scuola lavoro si è trasformato in questo evento, che consente agli studenti delle scuole superiori di acquisire competenze linguistiche trasversali e di essere informati sui contenuti del CdS di Scienze dell’Architettura.
In collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Lingue letterature e culture straniere è stato organizzato un ciclo di quattro lezioni, con l’obiettivo di mettere a confronto diversi temi inerenti alla progettazione architettonica e urbana, al disegno e al restauro dei monumenti e dei contesti storici, ognuno suddiviso in 3 ore di lezione ex cathedra e 2 ore dedicate a una attività applicativo-laboratoriale in forma di ex tempore.
Gli incontri si sono tenuti nel periodo dal 17 gennaio all’11 febbraio 2022.
E' stato organizzato un progetto più incentrato sulla matematica, in cui gli studenti imparano e sperimentano il significato di tassellazione aperiodica e il motivo geometrico dietro alla forma apparentemente semplice dei due tasselli di Penrose.
Inoltre, è stato organizzato un altro progetto in cui i contenuti e gli obiettivi vanno verso lo studio geometrico delle curve coniche e la conoscenza delle loro diverse rappresentazioni.

I Canali social hanno avuto un forte potenziamento, con la pubblicazione quotidiana di post sugli eventi e le attività dipartimentali.
Il Corso di Studio in breve
Il Corso di Laurea triennale in Scienze dell'Architettura è costituito da un'equilibrata, colta e attenta combinazione delle componenti essenziali (scientifiche, umanistiche, storiche e strumentali) della cultura architettonica.
Tutte le materie affrontano sia aspetti teorici che aspetti applicativi, mentre l'indagine progettuale, il vero catalizzatore dell'insegnamento, mette alla prova e affina cognizioni convergenti o interrelate.
L'obiettivo primario è quello di costituire una solida formazione di base per la prosecuzione degli studi in architettura (presso Roma Tre o presso un'altra sede italiana o europea); per questo il corso è concepito con un forte grado di compatibilità con tutti gli omologhi corsi in Scienze dell'Architettura.
Un diverso, ma altrettanto importante, obiettivo formativo è quello di fornire basi culturali articolate e utili anche a tutti coloro che non intendano proseguire quegli studi: cioè a chi intende accedere direttamente alle molteplici prospettive professionali dell'edilizia, ovvero a chi intende proseguire altrove percorsi di studi diversamente orientati: master di 1° livello, lauree magistrali in Design, Paesaggio, Conservazione, Pianificazione, Arti ecc.
L'ammissione al Corso di Laurea è regolamentata da Decreti Ministeriali, ai sensi della direttiva 85/384/CEE e successive modifiche, che fissano modalità e caratteristiche della prova di ammissione e numero di posti disponibili per ogni sede.
Al termine del ciclo quinquennale (3+2) si può esercitare l'attività e stabilire la sede professionale in uno degli stati aderenti all'Unione Europea.
L'organizzazione della didattica favorisce la mobilità degli studenti durante il corso di studi basandosi su un'offerta molto varia di accordi istituzionali con Università straniere (Europee ed Extraeuropee): più di 50 le sedi della rete europea aderenti al programma Erasmus e per le quali sono previste 73 borse di studio e più 20 accordi con Università Extraeuropee (Cile, Argentina, Brasile, Perù, USA, Cina).
Il Corso di Studi non prevede attualmente tirocini curriculari obbligatori tuttavia, nell'ambito dei crediti riservati alle Altre Attività Formative, è possibile svolgere tirocini professionali presso studi o istituzioni pubbliche e private, anche all'estero, per i quali il Dipartimento ha attivato numerose convenzioni anche in rapporto diretto con alcune realtà professionali di eccellenza per raccordare la formazione accademica con il mondo del lavoro.

tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,

The course proposes an overview of the architecture of the past, providing tools to analyze and understand the historical reasons and assess its quality. To this end, students are asked to examine the architectures selected focusing on the reasons of their construction in a specific time and place, what were the objectives of the client, the builder and the architect, how and why certain techniques and specific materials have been chosen, what relationship these buildings have with the architectures of the past and those contemporary to them, considering how these aspects are related to each other, reconstructing the design process, when it is sufficiently documented. In the first year the chosen buildings are the ones deemed most significant, including during the time span from the classical age extended to the sixteenth century.

The class introduces students to complexity in Architectural Design. The class proposes and explains the digital means, the procedures, the uses and the organization of contemporary Design Offices mroe oriented toward innovation and integration of different instances in the design. The class is oriented as a small Laboratory, even is its results are evaluated in the understanding of the theory and the new concepts introduced. Students produce a series of small designs, based on the direct experimentation of digital procedures in BIM software, conceived in its parametric core identity. So there is a strict relationship between technology introduced and design topics, thanks to a careful selection and filter of the proposed functions. The basic assumption of the class is that there is a strict need of facing new technologies, deeply understanding them and their power, but in a day to day effort to engage them in a design based thinking. The aim is to prepare students to a mindset that is fruitful in the contemporary professional and cultural context.

MATHEMATICAL DRAWING MACHINES: HISTORIC DRAWING FROM A PARAMETRIC POINT OF VIEW

The goal of this course is to underline the existing relations, between graphic and analytic representation, by a contemporary approach to the disciplines of drawing and mathematics. The graphic construction of a curve with ruler and compass will be followed by the analytical representation with parametric ad cartesian equations. Then the construction of historical drawing instruments will follow. The interdisciplinary goals of this course are: develop the attitude of students to understand and foresee the features of a figurative project on a two-dimensional support, from the beginning of its initial representation; provide scientific and cultural basis to handle digital modelling; strengthen their ability to integrate knowledge coming from different disciplines.

The course provides an overview of some aspects of computational mechanics, able to improve basic knowledge and skill of structural mechanics that architecture students acquired and developed during undergraduate training. It will give the key items of implementation for a structural analysis, through both theoretical presentations and practices making use of very common commercial software. The course, open to all students of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees, is aimed at acquiring the skills for the instrumental diagnosis of the structures and infrastructures of the historical and modern built heritage, which in Italy includes historical masonry buildings and those more recent reinforced concrete. The course includes experimental activities such as NDT (Non Destructive Test) and monitoring, which will be carried out at the PRiSMa Laboratory (Proof testing and Research in Structures and Materials) and in situ, with the support of the Unit Mobile for building safety. The application of the various investigation techniques is aimed at gaining the knowledge of traditional and innovative materials and the monitoring of the structures, with the final goal of promoting the implementation of maintenance plans and projects for the rehabilitation and reinforcement of existing buildings (buildings, monuments, bridges or viaducts) with attention to sustainability throughout the entire life cycle.

Transitional landscapes. Heritage making and mindscapes in time of global change The course explores the intersection among heritage (natural, cultural, built), reuse and urban wellbeing, approaching conceptual and practical examples aimed at supporting the city's transition towards preventive and crisis-preparedness qualities. Drawing on contents and results of the EU funded project CHANGES – Cultural Heritage Active innovation for Next-GEn Sustainable society, the aim is to explore the many effects generated by the activation of material and immaterial legacy, questioning the generative role of heritage matters. The course will also experiment with innovative spatial, socio-ecological and cultural design practices.
The course “Transitional landscapes. Heritage making and mindscapes in time of global change” develops within the field of urban studies. It aims to introduce some of the increasingly common tools, method, approach to urban heritage, conceived as an open, participated, performative, continuously changing artefact. In so doing, the course aims to provide students with: 1) an overview of the most updated conceptions of cultural heritage in Europe; 2) a complex and multilevel analytical capacity, both in terms of theory and practice, of heritage contexts; 3) the basic elements and tools to set heritage policy and/or design strategies.

Could - and should - urban space be considered cultural heritage? If so, how can we reveal the hidden properties of the spatial system, so to turn it into a cultural landscape? And how could these properties be communicated in order to integrate space as cultural heritage into contemporary and social construction processes? How can cities integrate historic layers (palimpsests) into their urban development? The project aims at critically examining and synthesizing archaeological and urban artefacts, matching them with other memories of human experience in the urban landscape. Our intention is to analyze and interpret the city of Rome following roman aqueducts (from Porta Capena to Parco degli Acquedotti) with its surroundings, hypothetically made up of five distinguishable, interrelated layers: The original landscape: the topography of the ancient city; Classical Rome (a period of ca. twelve centuries); Medieval Rome (ca. ten centuries); the Rome of the Renaissance and Baroque (ca. four centuries); Modern and contemporary Rome (after 1871). These different layers have constantly interacted through the historical development of urbanism, and their existing elements in the urban landscape will be identified, studied and described by students in different ways such as mapping, storytelling collection, archivial research.

To broaden the students’ frame of reference in the field of design culture, through the in-depth investigation of the experience of important figures and works of 20th century architecture. The study is aimed at the understanding of the generative process of the work, at the identification of operative categories achievable in the present time. During the course we will investigate design experiences in which the place is understood as heritage, a stratified palimpsest of material and immaterial testimonies, where collective memory takes shape through design action. The project operates as the plot for a new narrative that is necessarily discontinuous, but rooted in space: a work of interpretation and synthesis between the generality of construction archetypes and the singularity of each site. To show the direct relationship between the study of these experiences and their translation within the architectural project, with particular regard to the relationship between project and place, between old and new, between architecture and circumstance. To promote the internationalization of didactics, through the construction of a geography of correspondences between figures of architects who are distant in space and time, linked by what Henri Focillon called “affinity of spirit in relation to forms”. To invite students to directly experience the design approach investigated in the case studies through work on the existing heritage; the principle of imagining the new is affirmed through the search for the original forms, starting from the opposition between old and new, through a conscious process of rewriting, capable of defining new relationships between site and theme, artifice and nature. The past is modified by the present by revealing new concatenations between things. Collective memory takes shape through a new narrative.

Landscape is never still. Everything, even what is apparently inert, is permeated and modelled by a continuous work that transforms, generates, regenerates and consumes it. Regardless of the spatial and temporal scale on which it is viewed, the landscape is a vibrant matter and is constantly changing, in ways that are sometimes barely perceptible, at other times overwhelming. Assuming this awareness is useful in order to position ourselves in front of the contemporary condition of territories and environments. The aim of the course is to investigate the landscape, in its urban dimension, as a performative statute, through investigations in landscape and urban planning literature (reading) and through explorations and transformative actions (observations and interactions), which are able to train the competence of observation (knowing how to see) and of cooperation (knowing how to interact with the dynamics in progress).

TECHNOLOGICAL DESIGN LAB

Having acquired knowledge of the materials and construction elements of the building system and through design experimentation, the Lab introduces the relationship between construction techniques, physical-technical characteristics of the building and architectural form to enable students to develop a critical awareness of the integrations necessary for: an appropriate relationship of the building to its environmental context; a structural design consistent with functional and spatial organization; and solutions aimed at construction, and meeting the requirements of sustainability, well-being, accessibilitỳ and safety.

To provide students with theoretical-critical and operational tools aimed at the construction and transformation of contemporary urban space in order to • increase their awareness of the problematic features of the urban condition and the social, environmental and economic implications of the use and transformation of the territory; • develop a critical thinking with respect to the possibility of prefiguring actions capable of addressing the problems posed by the city. The course includes theoretical classes and exercises with analysis of urban plans and policies, studies on consolidated and changing urban territorial and social contexts, and design of parts of them.
