Special attention is payed to methods for solving a system of linear equations, to real vectors spaces and scalar products and to the study of linear spaces, conics and quadrics in an Ewuclidean space.

GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF QUANTUM MECHANICS APPLIED TO SIMPLE PHYSICAL SYSTEMS

TO PROVIDE A NUMBER OF MATHEMATICAL TOOLS, WHICH ARE ESSENTIAL FOR STUDENTS CULTURAL EDUCATION. KEY SUBJECTS ARE: (I) FUNCTIONS OF COMPLEX VARIABLES: THEORY AND PHYISCAL APPLICATIONS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS, (II) FINITE AND INFINITE-DIMENSIONAL VECTOR SPACES, IN PARTICULAR EUCLIDEAN SPACES, (III) FOURIER TRANSFORM AND DISTRIBUTIONS.

Develop the specific skills to be self-sufficient in the use of the computer for scientific computation and in planning, building and testing a code for data analysis and physics simulation. A survey to generic programming will also be done.
