Students will improve their skills and knowledge of the intercultural dynamics related to French Renaissance literature and culture. They will also develop an ability to properly use theoretical tools to analyze complex literary texts as well as the interrelations between literature and other forms of expression.

The title of the course is Federico García Lorca:personae and symbols in his poetry; a detailled analisys focussing on the well-knowwn Llanto por Ignacio Sánchez Mejías and signification and signifying in-between tauromachy, erotism and andalusian “gitanismo”. The course will follow a methodogical approach so as to bring to light the dissemination of the signification and of the signifying, within the pale of a comparative analisys concerning of the Italians translations and appreciation of the Llanto.

Students will refine their competence in analysing the intermedial and intercultural dynamics of the literatures and cultures of English-speaking countries, including issues of geography and cultural identity and the teaching of literature. They will also refine their ability to use theoretical and methodological approaches, and to apply the tools of philological and literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of processes of cross-cultural translation and the dynamics of intermedial communication.

A qualified knowledge of the U.S. literary canon and cultural history, and of the American Anglophonic postcolonial phenomenon. Close reading of literary texts. Neo-historicist discourses applied to literary texts. Multimedia and intertextual contaminations. Advanced translation practices.

The course aims at offering the students thorough knowledge of Russian Literary Criticism, in particular of semiotic approach. The course aims also at offering the students methodological instruments they need to analyse literary complex and diversified texts. Students will be able to develop autonomously further cultural and literary knowledge and competences of a higher level applying them to other, specific literary texts.

The course aims to provide students with specialized proficiency in methods of analysis of texts and literary phenomena within a Lusophonic and inter-cultural dimension. Students will also be expected to develop a stronger grasp of updated and diverse critical and methodological approaches, in order to elaborate adequate parameters for an independent interpretation of literary texts.

Students will refine their competence in analysing the intermedial and intercultural dynamics of the literatures and cultures of English-speaking countries, including issues of geography and cultural identity and the teaching of literature. They will also refine their ability to use theoretical and methodological approaches, and to apply the tools of philological and literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of processes of cross-cultural translation and the dynamics of intermedial communication.
