Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
I laureati avranno:
• conoscenze e capacità di comprensione che estendono e rafforzano quelle acquisite nella formazione di primo livello e consentono di elaborare e applicare idee originali anche in un contesto di ricerca;
• competenze avanzate ad ampio spettro nell'area dell'ingegneria delle infrastrutture viarie e nei trasporti e in alcuni specifici temi d'avanguardia nell'ambito di tali aree.
Questi obiettivi saranno perseguiti attraverso i corsi di insegnamento caratterizzanti, soprattutto quelli di natura formale e metodologica e saranno verificati attraverso i relativi esami.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
I laureati saranno in grado di applicare le conoscenze acquisite alla risoluzione di problemi complessi relativi a tematiche nuove o non familiari, inserite in contesti più ampi (anche interdisciplinari) connessi all'ingegneria delle infrastrutture viarie e dei trasporti.
In tali ambiti, i laureati saranno in grado di integrare le conoscenze e di condurre autonomamente attività di analisi, progettazione, realizzazione e gestione di sistemi di grande complessità, nonché di formulare giudizi anche sulla base di informazioni limitate o incomplete.
In particolare, gli ambiti applicativi che vengono approfonditi nel corso di laurea magistrale sono:
• nell'orientamento Infrastrutture Viarie: la progettazione per la realizzazione e la manutenzione, dal livello definitivo al livello esecutivo, delle infrastrutture e dei terminali di trasporto, lo studio dei materiali stradali e della sicurezza stradale;
• nell'orientamento Trasporti: la pianificazione e la progettazione delle reti terrestri, aeree e navali, l'interazione con il territorio, la progettazione dei centri intermodali e la logistica.
Questi obiettivi saranno perseguiti attraverso i corsi di insegnamento più sperimentali e le attività progettuali, inclusa quella relativa alla tesi di laurea magistrale, nonché nell'ambito del coordinato tirocinio.
Essi saranno verificati attraverso gli esami di profitto e l'esame di laurea magistrale.
Autonomia di giudizio
Nell'ambito dell'area dell'ingegneria delle infrastrutture viarie e dei trasporti, i laureati magistrali saranno in grado di assumere responsabilità decisionali autonome in progetti anche di grandi dimensioni e di partecipare attivamente al processo decisionale in contesti anche interdisciplinari.
Questo obiettivo sarà perseguito attraverso corsi di insegnamento teorici e progettuali, oltre che con la redazione della tesi di laurea magistrale.
Esso sarà verificato attraverso i relativi esami di profitto e l'esame di laurea magistrale.
Abilità comunicative
I laureati magistrali saranno in grado di comunicare efficacemente e interagire sulle tematiche di interesse con interlocutori specialisti e non specialisti, anche di alto livello, in contesti interdisciplinari.
Questo obiettivo sarà perseguito e verificato attraverso gli esami di profitto e l'esame di laurea magistrale.
Capacità di apprendimento
I laureati magistrali avranno sviluppato le basi necessarie per procedere, in maniera autonoma, nell'aggiornamento professionale e nell'approfondimento di studi e ricerche.
Questo obiettivo sarà perseguito e verificato attraverso gli esami di profitto, la tesi di laurea magistrale e le eventuali attività di tirocinio.
Requisiti di ammissione
In relazione alla disciplina in vigore per le Lauree Magistrali ( 120 cfu) il Collegio Didattico in Ingegneria Civile ha così individuato le conoscenze minime richieste per l'accesso alla Laurea Magistrale in Infrastrutture viarie e Trasporti:
a) Attività formative di base: 36 cfu dagli ambiti disciplinari "matematica, informatica e statistica" e " fisica e chimica" previsti dal decreto 16 marzo 2007 del MUR per la classe delle Lauree L7 in Ingegneria Civile Ambientale.
b)Attività formative caratterizzanti: 36 cfu dai SSD "Ingegneria civile : ICAR/02, ICAR/04, ICAR/05,ICAR/09" presenti nel decreto 16 marzo 2007 del MUR per la classe delle Lauree L7 in Ingegneria Civile Ambientale, avendo sostenuto almeno un esame per ciascuno dei SSD sopraindicati e, comunque non meno di 18 cfu nei SSD ICAR/04 e ICAR/05.
La valutazione del possesso delle dette conoscenze minime sarà realizzata tramite l'analisi del curriculum presentato e, eventualmente, con un colloquio.
Prova finale
La tesi di laurea magistrale, che prevede un contributo originale ed individuale dello studente, potrà essere sviluppata con riferimento ad un contesto professionale avanzato oppure su tematiche di ricerca, sotto la guida di un relatore ed eventualmente di uno o più correlatori, anche in coordinamento con le attività di tirocinio.

Gli ambiti professionali tipici del laureato magistrale in "Ingegneria delle Infrastrutture Viarie e Trasporti" sono:
• l'ambito della progettazione avanzata, della realizzazione, dell'esercizio e della gestione delle grandi infrastrutture di trasporto terrestre, stradali e ferroviarie, che connettono le reti nazionali di primo livello alle reti europee.
• l'ambito professionale che investe le problematiche del recupero funzionale del patrimonio viario esistente, da condurre in una logica di rete.
• l'ambito della progettazione dei servizi di trasporto pubblico per reti urbane ed extraurbane sia su strada che su ferrovia di passeggeri e merci.
• l'ambito della progettazione dei servizi integrati di trasporto privato su gomma per reti urbane ed extraurbane di passeggeri e merci (monitoraggio, controllo ed esazione del traffico e del parcheggio)

Attività degli studi di architettura, ingegneria ed altri studi tecnici
Progettazione e direzione dei lavori di costruzione,
Attività di consulenza in campo ingegneristico, tecnico e di gestione di progetti connessi all'ingegneria civile, idraulica e dei trasporti
Trasporti ferroviari
Trasporti ferroviari interurbani e suburbani di passeggeri
Altri trasporti terrestri, attività di trasporto urbano o suburbano di passeggeri lungo percorsi stabiliti in base ad orari generalmente fissi, carico e scarico di passeggeri a fermate generalmente fisse.

Nel corso dell’anno accademico una Commissione ad hoc del Corso di Studio si occupa di fornire supporto agli studenti laureati triennali provenienti da altro ateneo.
La commissione:
- Valuta i Curricula pregressi degli studenti;
- Verifica i requisiti di ammissione e gli eventuali debiti formativi;
- Propone agli studenti un piano di studi con indicazione:
su eventuali corsi singoli da sostenere prima della ammissione;
su scelte di piano di studi individuale per finire di colmare i debiti formativi
Il Corso di Studio in breve
Il corso di studio mira a formare laureati magistrali con solide basi metodologiche e con una elevata qualificazione professionale nell'area dell'Ingegneria delle Infrastrutture Viarie e dei Trasporti, che siano in grado di operare efficacemente nei numerosi settori applicativi che richiedono le competenze: di identificare, formulare e risolvere problemi complessi e/o che richiedano approcci e soluzioni originali per promuovere e gestire l'innovazione tecnologica, nonché per adeguarsi ai rapidi mutamenti tipici dei settori tecnici.
Lo studente espliciterà le proprie scelte al momento della presentazione,
tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,
secondo quanto stabilito dal regolamento didattico del corso di studio.
