THE STUDENT, ON THE BASIS OF A PREVIOUS THREE-YEAR PREPARATION THAT ENABLES HIM/HER TO MOVE CONFIDENTLY WITHIN THE DIACHRONIC FRAMEWORK OF CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE, THROUGH IN-DEPTH STUDY OF PARTICULAR MOMENTS AND THEMES OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, MUST ACQUIRE THE NON-UNIQUE METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS OF TEXTUAL ANALYSIS SUCH AS TO ALLOW A SOLID BACKGROUND OF CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE IN SEVERAL FIELDS OF INVESTIGATION: HISTORICIST, PHILOLOGICAL, STRUCTURAL, PSYCHOANALYTICAL, METRIC-STYLISTIC, RHETORICAL, ALSO IN A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ASPECTS, MOMENTS, ISSUES, TEXTS OF ITALIAN LINGUISTIC HISTORY FROM THE ORIGINS TO THE PRESENT DAY, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE MOST ANCIENT PHASES OF OUR LANGUAGE AND WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE PHASES OF THE MIDDLE AGES, AND WITH SPECIFIC ATTENTION TO CERTAIN PARADIGMATIC CASES. THEY WILL ALSO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ORIGINS AND FOUNDATIONS OF ITALIAN DIALECTOLOGY EXAMINED FROM A HISTORICAL POINT OF VIEW.

LINGUISTIC PRAGMATICS: RELATIONS BETWEEN TEXT AND CONTEXT; ILLOCUTION; THEORY OF SPEECH ACTS; COOPERATION PRINCIPLE, CONVERSATIONAL MAXIMS, IMPLICATURES; RELEVANCE THEORY; PRESUPPOSITIONS; INFORMATION STRUCTURE OF UTTERANCE.

(1A) DEEPENING OF SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND METHODOLOGICAL AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS IN THE SPECIFIC FIELD, WITH CONSOLIDATION OF THOSE ALREADY ACQUIRED DURING THE THREE-YEAR STUDY CYCLE; ATTAINMENT OF A SOLID PREPARATION IN THE FIELDS OF THE HISTORY OF ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE IN THEIR TRANSITION TO MODERN FORMS;(1B) DEEPENING OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF DIACHRONIC LINGUISTICS AND PHILOLOGY, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE TRADITION OF TEXTS AND THEIR EDITION AND INTERPRETATION, AND TO THE HISTORICAL DIMENSION IN WHICH THEY WERE GENERATED AND TRANSMITTED.

THE STUDENT MUST ACQUIRE SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE IN TRANSLATION THEORY AND ADVANCED METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE AIMED AT TRANSLATION PRACTICE AND TEXT REVISION.

The student will acquire specialised and applied skills in the methodologies of analysis of French literary texts and phenomena of the Renaissance period (16th century). He/she will also hone his/her abilities to autonomously and problematically use the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as the interrelations between literary language and that of other forms of expression, also with a focus on the problems of literature didactics.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN TRANSLATION THEORY APPLIED TO POETIC, LITERARY, NON-FICTION AND SECTORIAL TEXTS IN THE FRENCH LANGUAGE AND WILL HONE HIS/HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

ACQUISITION OF SPECIALISED AND APPLIED SKILLS IN THE METHODOLOGIES OF ANALYSING THE LITERARY TEXTS IN THE SYLLABUS, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO INTERTEXTUAL AND INTERGENERIC COMPARISONS. THE METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE AND NOTIONS OF CULTURAL AND LITERARY HISTORIOGRAPHY ACQUIRED DURING THE THREE-YEAR COURSE WILL BE PUT TO USE AND DEEPENED. THE STUDENT WILL ALSO BE CONFRONTED ON BOTH A PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL LEVEL WITH THE PROBLEMS OF LITERARY TRANSLATION, AND WILL BE ASKED TO WRITE SHORT ANALYTICAL TEXTS AS A MEANS OF PREPARATION FOR THE TWO-YEAR THESIS.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN THE THEORY OF TRANSLATION APPLIED TO THE TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION OF SPANISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES AND, THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF TRANSLATING LITERARY AND NON-FICTION TEXTS BELONGING TO A WIDE RANGE OF TYPOLOGIES (INCLUDING SECTORIAL ONES), WILL REFINE TO A VERY ADVANCED LEVEL HIS OR HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO REFLECT ON THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERARY GENRES AND THEIR TRANSFORMATIONS, THROUGH TEXTUAL ANALYSIS CONDUCTED WITH CRITICAL TOOLS AND DIVERSIFIED METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES. THE COURSE ALSO AIMS TO ILLUSTRATE THE METHODOLOGIES OF THE GENETICIST APPROACH TO THE LITERARY TEXT THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF SPECIFICALLY PROBLEMATIC CASES FROM THE WORKS OF AUTHORS OF PORTUGUESE MODERNISM.

The student will acquire specialised and applied skills in the methodologies of analysing literary texts and phenomena in English-speaking countries in their cross-cultural dimension, also in relation to the problems of literature didactics. He/she will also refine his/her abilities to use autonomously and problematically the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as of the interrelations between literary language and that of other forms of expression, always with an eye to the problems of literature didactics.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED AND APPLIED SKILLS IN THE METHODOLOGIES OF ANALYSING TEXTS AND LITERARY PHENOMENA OF THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING AREA OF AMERICA IN THEIR TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION, ALSO IN RELATION TO THE PROBLEMS OF THE DIDACTICS OF LITERATURE. HE/SHE WILL ALSO REFINE HIS/HER ABILITY TO USE AUTONOMOUSLY AND
PROBLEMATICALLY THE MOST UP-TO-DATE THEORETICAL TOOLS FOR AN IN-DEPTH CULTUROLOGICAL AND LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF LITERARY TEXTS AND PHENOMENA, AS WELL AS OF THE INTERRELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERARY LANGUAGE AND THAT OF OTHER FORMS OF EXPRESSION, ALSO WITH REGARD TO THE PROBLEMS OF LITERATURE DIDACTICS.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN TRANSLATION THEORY APPLIED TO THE TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES. THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF TRANSLATING LITERARY AND NON-FICTION TEXTS BELONGING TO A WIDE RANGE OF TYPOLOGIES (INCLUDING SECTORAL ONES), HE/SHE WILL REFINE HIS/HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY, WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS

THROUGH A CRITICAL READING OF GOETHE'S NOVELS, THE COURSE AIMS TO OFFER A RECONNAISSANCE OF ONE OF THE MOST INTENSE CULTURAL-HISTORICAL SEASONS OF GERMAN-SPEAKING LITERARY CIVILISATION, ATTEMPTING TO RECONSTRUCT THE DENSE INTELLECTUAL AND AESTHETIC FABRIC OF WEIMAR CLASSICISM.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE ARTICULATED SKILLS IN THE VARIOUS DIRECTIONS OF TRANSLATION THEORY WITH REFERENCE TO GERMAN-SPEAKING COUNTRIES AND, THROUGH THE SEMINAR ACTIVITY OF TRANSLATION APPLIED TO A WIDE RANGE OF TEXTUAL GENRES, WILL REFINE TO AN ADVANCED LEVEL HIS OR HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE COMPLEX TEXTS WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS ON PARTICULAR MOMENTS OF RUSSIAN LITERATURE AND REFINE TEXTUAL ANALYSIS THROUGH DIFFERENT CRITICAL METHODOLOGIES.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN TRANSLATION THEORY AND, THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF TRANSLATING LITERARY AND NON-FICTION TEXTS BELONGING TO A WIDE RANGE OF TYPOLOGIES (ALSO SECTORIAL), WILL REFINE TO A VERY ADVANCED LEVEL HIS OR HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

THE MODULE DEALS WITH THE PECULIARITIES OF THE BULGARIAN LANGUAGE, WHICH UNLIKE MOST OTHER SLAVIC LANGUAGES, INCLUDING RUSSIAN, HAS DEVELOPED FROM SYNTHETICISM TO ANALYTICISM. STARTING WITH PALAEOSLAVONIC, STUDIED IN THE THREE-YEAR COURSE, AND IN COMPARISON WITH THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE THAT THE STUDENTS ALREADY KNOW, THE MAIN GRAPHOPHONETIC AND GRAMMATICAL FEATURES OF THE MODERN BULGARIAN LANGUAGE ARE PRESENTED. ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL, STUDENTS WILL BE INTRODUCED TO THE USE OF SHORT TEXTS OF A SCIENTIFIC, POPULAR AND TOPICAL NATURE WITH THE HELP OF THE DICTIONARY.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE FURTHER SPECIALISED AND APPLIED SKILLS IN THE METHODOLOGIES OF ANALYSIS OF TEXTS AND LITERARY PHENOMENA IN HISPANO-AMERICAN CONTEXTS IN THEIR TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION. HE/SHE WILL ALSO REFINE HIS/HER ABILITY TO AUTONOMOUSLY AND PROBLEMATICALLY USE THE MOST UP-TO-DATE THEORETICAL TOOLS FOR AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF TEXTS, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATION AND DIDACTICS OF LITERATURE. WILL ACQUIRE AUTONOMOUS COMPETENCES AND SKILLS FOR THE FORMULATION AND ELABORATION OF THE FINAL EXAMINATION (MASTER'S DEGREE THESIS).

The student will refine to an advanced level his specialised skills in the analysis of intermediate and intercultural dynamics relating to the literatures and cultures of French-speaking countries in the contemporary era (1950-2000), without neglecting the problems of didactics and literature. He will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his theoretical-methodological skills and to critically use the tools of philological and literary-critical analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena.

Students will further deepen their skills in the methodologies of analysing literary texts and phenomena in Spain in their transcultural dimension. He/she will also refine his/her ability to autonomously and problematically use the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as the interrelationships between literary language and that of other forms of expression, also with a focus on the problems of translation and didactics of literature. The skills acquired will be useful to the student in choosing the topic on which to prepare the MASTER'S DEGREE thesis, and in conducting the relative research work in a sufficiently autonomous manner, albeit under the guidance of the lecturer supervisor.

The student will acquire further specialised and applied skills in the methodologies of analysis of literary texts and phenomena in Hispano-American contexts in their transcultural dimension. He/she will also refine his/her ability to autonomously and problematically use the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as the interrelationships between literary language and that of other forms of expression, also with a focus on the problems of translation and didactics of literature. He/she will acquire autonomous competences and skills for the formulation and elaboration of the final exam (MASTER'S DEGREE thesis)

The student should be able to reflect on the relationships between canon and tradition through the identification of issues concerning literary genres and their transformations and through textual analysis conducted with critical tools and diverse methodological approaches.

The student will refine to a highly advanced level his specialised skills in the analysis of the intermediate and intercultural dynamics relating to the literatures and cultures of English-speaking countries, as well as its cultural geographies and the problems of cultural identity, with an in-depth focus on the problems of the didactics of literature. He/she will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his/her theoretical-methodological skills, as well as to critically use the tools of philological and critical-literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of cross-cultural translation processes and of the dynamics of intermediary communication.

The student will refine to a highly advanced level his or her specialised skills in the analysis of the intermediate and intercultural dynamics relating to the literatures and cultures of the English-speaking countries of America, as well as its cultural geographies and the problems of cultural identity, with in-depth attention to the problems of the didactics of literature. He/she will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his/her theoretical-methodological skills, as well as to critically use the tools of philological and critical-literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of cross-cultural translation processes and of the dynamics of intermediary communication.

The student will refine to a highly advanced level his specialised skills in the analysis of the intermediate and intercultural dynamics relating to the literatures and cultures of German-speaking countries, as well as its cultural geographies and the problems of cultural identity, with an in-depth focus on the problems of the didactics of literature. He/she will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his/her theoretical-methodological skills, as well as to critically use the tools of philological and critical-literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of cross-cultural translation processes and of the dynamics of intermediary communication.

The student will hone his or her specialist skills in the theory and praxis of translation applied to literary, poetic, non-fiction and sectorial texts in the French language, while refining his or her ability to problematically analyse, interpret and recreate typologically and diachronically differentiated texts with their linguistic and cultural implications

The student will refine, by attaining an autonomous capacity of judgement and autonomous factual competence, his specialised skills in the theory of translation applied to the transcultural dimension of Spanish-speaking countries and his ability to problematically analyse, interpret and recreate literary and non-fiction texts that are very different typologically and diachronically, with their linguistic and cultural implications.

The student will deepen the study of language and the problems of translation through a theoretical investigation of the creativity and visibility of the act of translation, exemplified through the analysis of texts in non-European Portuguese.

The student will hone his or her specialist skills in the theory and praxis of translation applied to literary, poetic, non-fiction and sectorial texts in the English language, while refining his or her ability to problematically analyse, interpret and recreate typologically and diachronically differentiated texts with their linguistic and cultural implications

The student will hone his or her specialised skills in theory and applied translation and his or her ability to problematically analyse, interpret and recreate literary and non-fiction texts that are highly differentiated typologically and diachronically, with their linguistic and cultural implications.

He/she will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his/her theoretical-methodological skills, as well as to critically use the tools of philological and critical-literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of cross-cultural translation processes and of the dynamics of intermediary communication.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE, THROUGH THE STUDY OF SPECIALISED TOPICS, THE TOOLS FOR TEXTUAL, CRITICAL AND THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF AUTHORS AND WORKS OF ITALIAN LITERATURE RELATING TO THEATRICAL PRODUCTION, IN PARTICULAR FROM THE XIX AND XX CENTURIES.

THE STUDENT WILL LEARN SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CRITICAL CURRENTS, AND PRACTICE SOME OF THEIR PROPOSALS ON SAMPLES OF LITERARY TEXTS IN AN ORIGINAL WAY.

LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING: CRITICAL REFLECTION ON HOW METHODS AND APPROACHES IN THE FIELD OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING HAVE CHANGED OVER TIME. SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES THAT INSPIRE EACH METHOD OR APPROACH AND THE FUNCTIONING OF THE MIND IN THE LEARNING PROCESS

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED AND APPLIED SKILLS IN THE ANALYSIS OF MEDIEVAL TEXTS AND GENRES FROM THE ROMANCE AREAS, AS WELL AS IN THE METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES OF TEXT RECONSTRUCTION. HE/SHE WILL ALSO REFINE HIS/HER ABILITY TO USE AUTONOMOUSLY AND PROBLEMATICALLY THE APPROPRIATE CRITICAL TOOLS FOR A DEEPER INTERPRETATION OF THE MEDIEVAL TEXT IN ITS HISTORICAL-CULTURAL DIMENSION AND IN THE ASPECTS RELATED TO THE PHENOMENA OF INTERTEXTUALITY AND TRANSCULTURALITY.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE, THROUGH THE STUDY OF SPECIALISED TOPICS, THE TOOLS FOR TEXTUAL, CRITICAL AND THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF AUTHORS AND WORKS OF ITALIAN LITERATURE RELATING TO THEATRICAL PRODUCTION, IN PARTICULAR FROM THE XIX AND XX CENTURIES.

THE STUDENT, ON THE BASIS OF A PREVIOUS THREE-YEAR PREPARATION THAT ENABLES HIM/HER TO MOVE CONFIDENTLY WITHIN THE DIACHRONIC FRAMEWORK OF CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE, THROUGH IN-DEPTH STUDY OF PARTICULAR MOMENTS AND THEMES OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, MUST ACQUIRE THE NON-UNIQUE METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS OF TEXTUAL ANALYSIS SUCH AS TO ALLOW A SOLID BACKGROUND OF CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE IN SEVERAL FIELDS OF INVESTIGATION: HISTORICIST, PHILOLOGICAL, STRUCTURAL, PSYCHOANALYTICAL, METRIC-STYLISTIC, RHETORICAL, ALSO IN A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ASPECTS, MOMENTS, ISSUES, TEXTS OF ITALIAN LINGUISTIC HISTORY FROM THE ORIGINS TO THE PRESENT DAY, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE MOST ANCIENT PHASES OF OUR LANGUAGE AND WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE PHASES OF THE MIDDLE AGES, AND WITH SPECIFIC ATTENTION TO CERTAIN PARADIGMATIC CASES. THEY WILL ALSO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ORIGINS AND FOUNDATIONS OF ITALIAN DIALECTOLOGY EXAMINED FROM A HISTORICAL POINT OF VIEW.

THE STUDENT WILL LEARN SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY CRITICAL CURRENTS, AND PRACTICE SOME OF THEIR PROPOSALS ON SAMPLES OF LITERARY TEXTS IN AN ORIGINAL WAY.

THE STUDENT MUST ACQUIRE SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE IN TRANSLATION THEORY AND ADVANCED METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE AIMED AT TRANSLATION PRACTICE AND TEXT REVISION.

The student will acquire specialised and applied skills in the methodologies of analysis of French literary texts and phenomena of the Renaissance period (16th century). He/she will also hone his/her abilities to autonomously and problematically use the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as the interrelations between literary language and that of other forms of expression, also with a focus on the problems of literature didactics.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN TRANSLATION THEORY APPLIED TO POETIC, LITERARY, NON-FICTION AND SECTORIAL TEXTS IN THE FRENCH LANGUAGE AND WILL HONE HIS/HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

ACQUISITION OF SPECIALISED AND APPLIED SKILLS IN THE METHODOLOGIES OF ANALYSING THE LITERARY TEXTS IN THE SYLLABUS, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO INTERTEXTUAL AND INTERGENERIC COMPARISONS. THE METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE AND NOTIONS OF CULTURAL AND LITERARY HISTORIOGRAPHY ACQUIRED DURING THE THREE-YEAR COURSE WILL BE PUT TO USE AND DEEPENED. THE STUDENT WILL ALSO BE CONFRONTED ON BOTH A PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL LEVEL WITH THE PROBLEMS OF LITERARY TRANSLATION, AND WILL BE ASKED TO WRITE SHORT ANALYTICAL TEXTS AS A MEANS OF PREPARATION FOR THE TWO-YEAR THESIS.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN THE THEORY OF TRANSLATION APPLIED TO THE TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION OF SPANISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES AND, THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF TRANSLATING LITERARY AND NON-FICTION TEXTS BELONGING TO A WIDE RANGE OF TYPOLOGIES (INCLUDING SECTORIAL ONES), WILL REFINE TO A VERY ADVANCED LEVEL HIS OR HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO REFLECT ON THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERARY GENRES AND THEIR TRANSFORMATIONS, THROUGH TEXTUAL ANALYSIS CONDUCTED WITH CRITICAL TOOLS AND DIVERSIFIED METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES. THE COURSE ALSO AIMS TO ILLUSTRATE THE METHODOLOGIES OF THE GENETICIST APPROACH TO THE LITERARY TEXT THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF SPECIFICALLY PROBLEMATIC CASES FROM THE WORKS OF AUTHORS OF PORTUGUESE MODERNISM.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE SPECIALISED SKILLS IN TRANSLATION THEORY AND, THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF TRANSLATING LITERARY AND NON-FICTION TEXTS BELONGING TO A WIDE RANGE OF TYPOLOGIES (ALSO SECTORIAL), WILL REFINE TO A VERY ADVANCED LEVEL HIS OR HER ABILITY TO PROBLEMATICALLY ANALYSE, INTERPRET AND RECREATE TEXTS OF RELEVANT COMPLEXITY WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL IMPLICATIONS.

THE MODULE DEALS WITH THE PECULIARITIES OF THE BULGARIAN LANGUAGE, WHICH UNLIKE MOST OTHER SLAVIC LANGUAGES, INCLUDING RUSSIAN, HAS DEVELOPED FROM SYNTHETICISM TO ANALYTICISM. STARTING WITH PALAEOSLAVONIC, STUDIED IN THE THREE-YEAR COURSE, AND IN COMPARISON WITH THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE THAT THE STUDENTS ALREADY KNOW, THE MAIN GRAPHOPHONETIC AND GRAMMATICAL FEATURES OF THE MODERN BULGARIAN LANGUAGE ARE PRESENTED. ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL, STUDENTS WILL BE INTRODUCED TO THE USE OF SHORT TEXTS OF A SCIENTIFIC, POPULAR AND TOPICAL NATURE WITH THE HELP OF THE DICTIONARY.

THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE FURTHER SPECIALISED AND APPLIED SKILLS IN THE METHODOLOGIES OF ANALYSIS OF TEXTS AND LITERARY PHENOMENA IN HISPANO-AMERICAN CONTEXTS IN THEIR TRANSCULTURAL DIMENSION. The student will refine to an advanced level his specialised skills in the analysis of intermediate and intercultural dynamics relating to the literatures and cultures of French-speaking countries in the contemporary era (1950-2000), without neglecting the problems of didactics and literature. He will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his theoretical-methodological skills and to critically use the tools of philological and literary-critical analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena.

Students will further deepen their skills in the methodologies of analysing literary texts and phenomena in Spain in their transcultural dimension. He/she will also refine his/her ability to autonomously and problematically use the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as the interrelationships between literary language and that of other forms of expression, also with a focus on the problems of translation and didactics of literature. The skills acquired will be useful to the student in choosing the topic on which to prepare the MASTER'S DEGREE thesis, and in conducting the relative research work in a sufficiently autonomous manner, albeit under the guidance of the lecturer supervisor.

The student will acquire further specialised and applied skills in the methodologies of analysis of literary texts and phenomena in Hispano-American contexts in their transcultural dimension. He/she will also refine his/her ability to autonomously and problematically use the most up-to-date theoretical tools for an in-depth culturological and linguistic analysis of literary texts and phenomena, as well as the interrelationships between literary language and that of other forms of expression, also with a focus on the problems of translation and didactics of literature. He/she will acquire autonomous competences and skills for the formulation and elaboration of the final exam (MASTER'S DEGREE thesis)

The student should be able to reflect on the relationships between canon and tradition through the identification of issues concerning literary genres and their transformations and through textual analysis conducted with critical tools and diverse methodological approaches.

He/she will also acquire a high capacity to independently refine his/her theoretical-methodological skills, as well as to critically use the tools of philological and critical-literary analysis for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, in particular of cross-cultural translation processes and of the dynamics of intermediary communication.

The student will hone his or her specialist skills in the theory and praxis of translation applied to literary, poetic, non-fiction and sectorial texts in the French language, while refining his or her ability to problematically analyse, interpret and recreate typologically and diachronically differentiated texts with their linguistic and cultural implications

The student will refine, by attaining an autonomous capacity of judgement and autonomous factual competence, his specialised skills in the theory of translation applied to the transcultural dimension of Spanish-speaking countries and his ability to problematically analyse, interpret and recreate literary and non-fiction texts that are very different typologically and diachronically, with their linguistic and cultural implications.
