The course focuses on seminal texts of Western political thought, on key figures and modes of thought in the history of political ideas.

This course will provide students with a good grounding in the methods and substantive concerns of contemporary political science as well as familiarity with the most important theories in the field. In particular, the course will introduce students to some of the main empirical variations in political behaviour, institutions, and outcomes across the world, focusing mainly on democratic and non democratic regimes, and to some of the basic theoretical ideas in political science.

The course aims at highlighting the main evolutionary steps of economic teheory, from 18th century until nowadays. Activities/courses performed by working students shall not be finalized to internal retraining and / or career advancement procedures.
