Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
I laureati tramite le conoscenze acquisite nelle discipline di base, caratterizzanti ed affini, raggiungeranno una capacità generale di comprensione delle problematiche proprie dell'attività professionale dell'ingegnere civile, con qualche approfondimento nell'ambito dei SSD caratterizzanti la classe.
I laureati avranno:
- conoscenze di base nei settori dell'analisi matematica, della geometria, della fisica e della chimica, che permetteranno loro di disporre degli strumenti per interpretare e descrivere i problemi di interesse nelle discipline caratterizzanti,
- competenze avanzate ad ampio spettro nelle aree dell'ingegneria civile (Strutture civili, Idraulica del Territorio, Infrastrutture Viarie, Mobilità e Territorio).
Questi obiettivi saranno perseguiti attraverso i corsi di insegnamento di base e caratterizzanti, soprattutto quelli di natura formale e metodologica e saranno verificati attraverso i relativi esami.Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
I laureati saranno in grado di applicare le conoscenze acquisite alla risoluzione di problemi nell'area dell'ingegneria strutturale, dell'ingegneria idraulica, dell'ingegneria infrastrutturale e dell'ingegneria dei trasporti.
In tali aree i laureati saranno in grado di condurre autonomamente attività di analisi, progettazione, realizzazione e gestione di sistemi di media complessità e di partecipare proficuamente a quelle relative a sistemi di grande complessità.
In particolare, gli ambiti applicativi che vengono approfonditi nel corso di laurea sono mirati a sviluppare l'attitudine a impostare e risolvere problemi relativi:
- all'analisi, alla progettazione strutturale, alla costruzione, al controllo, alla valutazione della sicurezza delle opere civili;
- alla progettazione, costruzione e gestione delle opere e dei sistemi per l'approvvigionamento idrico, per la tutela delle risorse idriche e per la difesa idraulica del territorio, in particolare, le problematiche idrauliche,
strutturali, nonché quelle connesse allo smaltimento dei rifiuti;
- alla progettazione delle nuove opere stradali, ferroviarie e aeroportuali e all'adeguamento degli impianti esistenti nel rispetto dei condizionamenti
espressi dal territorio e dall'ambiente, in particolare i temi relativi alla scelta dei materiali, alle tecnologie costruttive e all'ottimizzazione del cantiere anche con riferimento alle problematiche della sicurezza;
- alla applicazione dei principi scientifici della teoria dei trasporti alla pianificazione, progettazione, organizzazione e gestione dei sistemi di trasporto, nel rispetto delle compatibilità tecniche, economiche, sociali, territoriali e ambientali, con particolare attenzione alla applicazione degli strumenti operativi necessari nell'attività professionale dell'ingegnere dei trasporti.
Questi obiettivi saranno perseguiti attraverso i corsi di insegnamento teorici, applicativi e attività progettuali.
Essi saranno verificati attraverso gli esami di profitto e la prova finale di laurea.Autonomia di giudizio
Nell'ambito dell'area dell'ingegneria civile, i laureati saranno in grado di assumere responsabilità decisionali autonome in progetti di media dimensione e di contribuire al processo decisionale in progetti complessi.
Questo obiettivo sarà perseguito attraverso alcuni corsi di insegnamento con componente progettuale o applicativa.
Esso sarà verificato attraverso i relativi esami di profitto e la prova finale di laurea, eventualmente in coordinamento con l'attività di tirocinio.
Abilità comunicative
I laureati saranno in grado di comunicare e interagire sulle tematiche di interesse con interlocutori specialisti e non specialisti, secondo il proprio livello di responsabilità.
Questo obiettivo sarà perseguito e verificato attraverso gli esami di profitto, la prova finale di laurea.
Capacità di apprendimento
I laureati svilupperanno le competenze necessarie per intraprendere gli studi successivi a livello avanzato nei settori dell'ingegneria civile e saranno in grado di procedere autonomamente nell'aggiornamento professionale.
Questo obiettivo sarà perseguito soprattutto attraverso i corsi di insegnamento di natura metodologica e sarà verificato attraverso gli esami di profitto.
.Requisiti di ammissione
Per accedere proficuamente al corso di laurea sono richieste conoscenze di matematica e di scienze di base assimilabili a quelle acquisibili nelle scuole secondarie superiori.
In particolare: per la matematica si ritengono necessarie conoscenze di trigonometria, di algebra elementare, di funzioni elementari dirette ed inverse, di polinomi, di equazioni e disequazioni di primo e secondo grado, di geometria elementare delle curve, delle aree e dei volumi; per le scienze si ritengono utili conoscenze di base nell'area della fisica classica e chimica classica (meccanica del punto materiale, elettromagnetismo, termodinamica, costituzione atomica della materia).
Il Regolamento Didattico del Corso di Studio stabilisce nel dettaglio i requisiti e le conoscenze richieste per l'accesso ai corsi di Laurea e specifica le modalità di verifica.
È’ prevista una prova di verifica obbligatoria per tutti i pre-iscritti.
Gli studenti che non superano la prova e ai quali, conseguentemente, sono attribuiti obblighi formativi aggiuntivi (OFA), devono superare le successive prove di recupero programmate e riservate agli studenti regolarmente immatricolati.
A questi studenti sono erogate delle attività di supporto per il recupero degli OFA.
L'assolvimento degli OFA è propedeutico a tutti gli esami di profitto.
Prova finale
La prova finale per il conseguimento del titolo di studio consiste nella redazione scritta da parte dello studente di una relazione di sintesi critica relativa a uno o più progetti o elaborati esercitativi svolti dallo studente nell'ambito delle attività formative dell'orientamento curriculare seguito (comprese le attività di tirocinio).
Lo svolgimento del lavoro argomento della prova finale e la stesura della relazione hanno una durata complessiva di norma pari a circa 100 ore.
Nel corso dello svolgimento del lavoro e della redazione della relazione da presentare alla prova finale, lo studente è seguito e assistito dal docente-tutore e dall'eventuale co-tutore.Orientamento in ingresso
Le azioni di orientamento in ingresso sono improntate alla realizzazione di processi di raccordo con la scuola media secondaria.
Si concretizzano in attività di carattere informativo sui Corsi di Studio (CdS) dell'Ateneo ma anche come impegno condiviso da scuola e università per favorire lo sviluppo di una maggiore consapevolezza da parte degli studenti nel compiere scelte coerenti con le proprie conoscenze, competenze, attitudini e interessi.
Le attività promosse si articolano in:
a) autorientamento;
b) incontri e manifestazioni informative rivolte alle future matricole;
c) sviluppo di servizi online e pubblicazione di guide sull'offerta formativa dei CdS.
Tra le attività svolte in collaborazione con le scuole per lo sviluppo di una maggiore consapevolezza nella scelta, il progetto di autorientamento è un intervento che consente di promuovere un raccordo particolarmente qualificato con alcune scuole medie superiori.
Il progetto, infatti, è articolato in incontri svolti presso le scuole ed è finalizzato a sollecitare nelle future matricole una riflessione sui propri punti di forza e sui criteri di scelta.
La presentazione dell'offerta formativa agli studenti delle scuole superiori prevede tre eventi principali distribuiti nel corso dell'anno accademico ai quali partecipano tutti i CdS.
• Salone dello studente, si svolge presso la fiera di Roma fra ottobre e novembre e coinvolge tradizionalmente tutti gli Atenei del Lazio e molti Atenei fuori Regione, Enti pubblici e privati che si occupano di Formazione e Lavoro.
Roma Tre partecipa a questo evento con un proprio spazio espositivo, con conferenze di presentazione dell'offerta formativa dell'Ateneo e promuove i propri Dipartimenti scientifici grazie all'iniziativa Roma 1,2,3 … Scienze;
• Giornate di Vita Universitaria (GVU), si svolgono ogni anno da dicembre a marzo e sono rivolte agli studenti degli ultimi due anni della scuola secondaria superiore.
Si svolgono in tutti i Dipartimenti dell'Ateneo e costituiscono un'importante occasione per le future matricole per vivere la realtà universitaria.
Gli incontri sono strutturati in modo tale che accanto alla presentazione dei Corsi di Laurea, gli studenti possano anche fare un'esperienza diretta di vita universitaria con la partecipazione ad attività didattiche, laboratori, lezioni o seminari, alle quali partecipano anche studenti seniores che svolgono una significativa mediazione di tipo tutoriale.
Partecipano annualmente circa 5.000 studenti;
• Orientarsi a Roma Tre, rappresenta la manifestazione che chiude le annuali attività di orientamento in ingresso e si svolge in Ateneo a luglio di ogni anno.
L'evento accoglie, perlopiù, studenti romani che partecipano per mettere definitivamente a fuoco la loro scelta universitaria.
Durante la manifestazione viene presentata l'offerta formativa e sono presenti, con un proprio spazio, tutti i principali servizi di Roma Tre, le segreterie didattiche e la segreteria studenti.
I servizi online messi a disposizione dei futuri studenti universitari nel tempo sono aumentati tenendo conto dello sviluppo delle nuove opportunità di comunicazione tramite web.
Inoltre, durante tutte le manifestazioni di presentazione dell'offerta formativa, sono illustrati quei servizi online (siti web di Dipartimento, di Ateneo, Portale dello studente etc.) che possono aiutare gli studenti nella loro scelta.
Il Collegio Didattico di Ingegneria Civile partecipa attivamente alle attività succitate, in particolare organizzando visite ai laboratori, nell'ambito delle quali le potenziali matricole vengono introdotte ai temi principali dell'Ingegneria Civile, oltre a conoscere e interloquire con alcuni docenti del Collegio.
Il Collegio Didattico pubblicizza inoltre le attività specifiche dei propri Corsi di Studio, attraverso il sito web (https://didattica.sic.uniroma3.it/), la pagina Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ingegneriacivileroma3/) e il canale YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIzDXyx06zKxZzV-mwf1XIQ).
Il Corso di Studio in breve
II Corso di Studio è indirizzato alla formazione di laureati che siano in grado di operare nei diversi campi dell'ingegneria civile con adeguate conoscenze scientifiche, inserendosi agevolmente negli ambiti della progettazione, realizzazione e gestione delle strutture e infrastrutture civili.
L'obbiettivo è formare una figura di laureati capaci, nell'esercizio delle proprie attività, di utilizzare moderne metodologie e tecniche, di esprimere capacità relazionali e decisionali, nonché di aggiornare le proprie conoscenze professionali.
L'ordinamento didattico del Corso di Studio è concepito al fine di definire un profilo professionale di ingegnere civile orientato verso i settori dell'Ingegneria idraulica, delle strutture, delle infrastrutture viarie e dei sistemi di trasporto.
Le attività di laboratorio previste dall'ordinamento didattico sono integrate nell'ambito degli insegnamenti, in relazione a esigenze applicative e sperimentali connesse con i contenuti formativi degli stessi insegnamenti.
Lo studente espliciterà le proprie scelte al momento della presentazione,
tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,
secondo quanto stabilito dal regolamento didattico del corso di studio.

Allow the acquisition of the method deductive logic and provide the basic mathematical tools of the calculation of differential and integral. Each topic will be introduced and strictly the treaty, carrying, sometimes, detailed demonstrations, and also doing large reference to physical meaning, geometric interpretation and application number. Proper methodology and a reasonable skill in the use of the concepts of calculation and its entirety and differential results will put in grade students in principle to face so easy application more topics that will take place in the following courses.

The main objective of the course is to provide the students with the methodological and conceptual tools for designing algorithms and implementing them into programs for the automatic solution of problems.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ENGINEERING
(objectives)
The main scope of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge of environmental engineering. The course belongs to the three-year degree in Civil Engineering, whose aim is to prepare students in civil engineering by providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. Road Materials is also a course of the master degrees in Road Infrastructures and Transport and Civil Engineering for Protection from Natural Risks, whose objective is training a highly professional figure in civil engineering with specific knowledge and skills in road infrastructures design and management and transportation issues and protection from hydrogeological and seismic risks, respectively. Within such framework, the course aims at providing students with the basic knowledge and understanding about 1) the biotic and abiotic environment, with references to ecology, chemistry and biology principles; 2) the reference environmental legislation; 3) water, atmosphere and soil quality parameters; 4) the processes of diffusion of pollutants in the environment; 5) treatment techniques. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to 1) evaluate the quality parameters of water, atmosphere and soil in relation to the current legislation 2) analyze the different engineering techniques of water, atmosphere and soil treatment in function of the type of pollutant; 3) basic knowledge of the integrated management of urban solid waste.

The main scope of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge of environmental engineering. The course belongs to the three-year degree in Civil Engineering, whose aim is to prepare students in civil engineering by providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. Road Materials is also a course of the master degrees in Road Infrastructures and Transport and Civil Engineering for Protection from Natural Risks, whose objective is training a highly professional figure in civil engineering with specific knowledge and skills in road infrastructures design and management and transportation issues and protection from hydrogeological and seismic risks, respectively. Within such framework, the course aims at providing students with the basic knowledge and understanding about 1) the biotic and abiotic environment, with references to ecology, chemistry and biology principles; 2) the reference environmental legislation; 3) water, atmosphere and soil quality parameters; 4) the processes of diffusion of pollutants in the environment; 5) treatment techniques. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to 1) evaluate the quality parameters of water, atmosphere and soil in relation to the current legislation 2) analyze the different engineering techniques of water, atmosphere and soil treatment in function of the type of pollutant; 3) basic knowledge of the integrated management of urban solid waste.

Transport Technology and Economics is a course of the Transportation sector, given within the three years of the Degree in Civil Engineering. This degree aims at providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. As part of the Bachelor's degree program, the Transport Technology and Economics course provides the fundamental skills for the design, construction and management of the main transport systems. The technical efficiency of the system and its interaction with the other components are developed both in technical terms and in terms of economic convenience. Students will acquire expertise in transport technology and economics such as 1) Theory of traffic flow, 2) propulsion units, 3) Vehicle motion, 4) wheelset components, 5) electric and diesel traction systems, 6) brake systems, 7) railway infrastructure, 8) commercial speed. At the end of the course the students will be able to 1) analyse and design the functional characteristics of the elements of a rail- system (infrastructures and services), 2) identify the interactions between vehicle and infrastructure; 3) computation of forces acting on a vehicle, 4) identify flow diagrams, 5) perform a cost-benefit analysis with regard to a transport system.

Roads Railways Airports is a course of the Degree in Civil Engineering. The course is aimed at providing students with the basic theories for the physical and functional characterization of different transport infrastructures such as roads, railways and airports. At the end of the course the students will be able to: 1) handle the several characteristics and design principles of the different transport infrastructures; 2) analyze the Italian road design rule; 3) identify the best technical and economical solution for designing a transport infrastructure.

Simple laws will be derived, which can be used to tackle hydrostatic problem, as well as normal and permanent flows. Hydraulics belongs to the “Ingegneria Civile“ Course, whose aim is to prepare students in civil engineering topics such as hydraulics, structures and transportation infrastructures, and train them to their design, construction, management and maintenance. Within such framework, Hydraulics aims at formulating the fundamental laws upon which the technical formulae employed in the design practice are established. Introduction to Structural Mechanics provides students with the basic knowledge of mechanics of materials and structures. This knowledge allows students to solve simple problems in the statics of elastic beams, and to acquire the core knowledge required for courses in structural design. The course is taught in the second year of the Degree in Civil Engineering. This degree aims at providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. As part of this process, the course aims to provide adequate knowledge: 1) of the laws governing the equilibrium of rigid and deformable systems; 2) of beam theory; 3) methods for calculating stresses in beam framework; 4) assess the resistance of a structure. At the end of the course students will be able to: 1) be acquainted with technical language; 2) analytically represent and solve simple problems of statics of structures in civil engineering; 3) to understand the limits of the models used; 4) to assess the safety of a structural element.

GEOTECHNICS I

Geotechnical I aims to provide students with the basic theoretical foundations on the mechanical and hydraulic behaviour of soils and the knowledge of the elementary methods used for the dimensioning and verification of foundations (shallow and deep) and earth retaining structures. Geotecnica I is a teaching characteristic of the Degree in Civil Engineering which aims to define a professional profile of civil engineer mainly oriented towards the sectors of hydraulic engineering, structural engineering, road infrastructure and transport systems, which can carry out planning, construction, management and maintenance of civil works. The course will cover the topics of basic geotechnics such as: the nature of soils, the multiphase nature, the principle of effective stresses, the fluid flow effects, the mechanical behaviour of soils and the experimental tests for the determination of physical and mechanical parameters. Knowledge will also be provided on some analytical methods for calculating the thrust of the soils on the earth retaining structures and for calculating the bearing capacity and settlement of shallow foundations. At the end of the course, the students will be able to interpret the results of the main geotechnical laboratory tests, perform basic geotechnical calculations for the sizing of the supporting walls and shallow foundations, evaluate the settlements induced by loads applied to the ground surface and caused by variations in the effective stress.

Steel and reinforced concrete structures is a course included in the second year of the first level degree in civil engineering. The course aims at providing the students with the fundamental knowledge and tools to understand the behaviour of steel and reinforced concrete structures, assess their safety level with respect to Ultimate and Serviceability Limit States, and design simple structural assemblies. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: 1) assess the safety level of structures according to the Limit State Method, using the format and with reference to the performance target levels recommended by Italian building code and Eurocodes; 2) identify the load patterns to assume in calculations and checks; 3) design and assess the performance of steel and reinforced concrete structures including connections and structural details, with specific respect to resistance ultimate limit states, and 4) produce design drawings.

The main scope of this course is to provide students with the basic knowledge and develop the fundamental skills of (i) applied hydrology for water resources and flood risk management, and (ii) water supply systems design. Hydraulic Infrastructures belongs to the three-year degree in Civil Engineering, whose aim is to prepare students in civil engineering by providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. Within such framework, Hydraulic Infrastructures aims at providing students with the basic knowledge and understanding about 1) water cycle; 2) fundamental methods and models, including statistical approaches, for hydrologic analysis for water resources and flood risk management; 3) hydraulic structures for freshwater withdrawal, storage and supply, mainly for domestic use; 4) basic criteria for water supply infrastructure design; 5) computational tools for hydrologic analysis and infrastructure design. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to 1) perform statistical analysis of hydrologic data; 2) estimate the hydrological load acting on the structures (design quantities); 3) identify the most appropriate infrastructure solution for water supply; 4) perform a first estimate of structure dimensions.

Integrated Design For Road Infrastructures is a course of the Degree in Civil Engineering. This degree aims at providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. The course is aimed at providing students with the rules for the design of a road, according several issues such as the respect of national technical laws, the study of the system of constraints, and the optimization of the design choices including the environmental point of view. Different levels of road design are illustrated and discussed, moreover a project of a rural road is developed during the course also using a roadway design software. At the end of the course the students will be able to: 1) use the software and applications to design and to draw a road project; 2) solve the problems of choices optimization in different design phases; 3) quantify the parametric costs for road constructions; 4) discuss to a road project showing the best technical and economical solution.

Transport Systems Design is a course of the Transportation sector, given within the three years of the Degree in Civil Engineering. This degree aims at providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. As part of the three-year degree, the course of Transport Systems Design provides the fundamental skills for the design of a Transport System and its economic analysis. Students will get the necessary skills: 1) to define the models of mobility demand, transport supply and vehicular flows; 2) to dimension a road infrastructure; 3) to assess the levels of service offered by the transport system; 4) to identify possible design solutions in order to solve the emerged problems; 5) to verify the operational of the supply/demand system in the reference and project conditions; 6) to carry out the evaluation of the solutions that can be adopted through the cost benefit analysis. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: 1) use theory and manual elements to evaluate the individual elements of the transport system; 2) use commercial software to simulate the operational of the supply/demand system; 3) operationally carrying out a real case study; 4) evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of the project.

Within such framework, the course aims at providing students with the basic knowledge and understanding about 1) the biotic and abiotic environment, with references to ecology, chemistry and biology principles; 2) the reference environmental legislation; 3) water, atmosphere and soil quality parameters; 4) the processes of diffusion of pollutants in the environment; 5) treatment techniques. Computer-aided design for civil engineering is an online course given within the three years of the Degree in Civil Engineering. This degree aims at providing tools for the design, construction, maintenance and management of civil structures and infrastructures, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, transport systems, hydraulic works and land protection. The course is aimed at providing students with the basic knowledge and understanding of some software (Excel, Powerpoint, Autocad, Coreldraw, Matlab) and their capabilities and tools for the development of numerical processing and graphics applications. Such applying knowledge will be useful for the design courses of the Degree in Civil Engineering.
