The focus will be on the main institutions of family law (marriage, filiation, etc.) with regard to the Western conception of family law and that belonging to other legal experiences, with particular reference to the Islamic world. This comparison will allow to highlight the evolution of the relationship between law and religion in different legal experiences, as well as to reason on family law as an instrument of government of society, capable of affecting interpersonal and intergenerational relationships.
