Autonomia di giudizio
L'autonomia di giudizio , ovvero l'acquisizione della capacità di integrare le conoscenze e gestirne la complessità, anche in modo autonomo, nonché di elaborare osservazioni e formulare valutazioni, sarà acquisita per mezzo di lezioni tenute in forma seminariale negli ambiti delle attività formative attivate nei SSD relativi alle lingue e letterature latine e greche (L-FIL-LET/02, L-FIL-LET-04, L-FIL-LET/06, L-FIL-LET/08), alle scienze filologiche (L-FIL-LET/05), storiche (L-ANT/02, L-ANT/03, L-ANT/05, M-STO/07, M-STO/09).
Le attività suddette consentiranno lo sviluppo di una corretta ermeneutica dei testi e delle fonti documentarie, sviluppando le capacità di valutare autonomamente i documenti oggetto degli studi e di collegare i vari ambiti dei saperi letterari, linguistici, storici e filologici.
Il raggiungimento dell' autonomia di giudizio sarà verificata sui risultati delle analisi dei testi e delle fonti documentarie, dalla capacità di creare bibliografie di riferimento primarie e secondarie esaustive, nonché dalla valutazione dei criteri applicati nella preparazione e redazione della tesi di laurea.
Abilità comunicative
Le abilità comunicative necessarie a trasmettere in modo chiaro e privo di ambiguità, sia ad interlocutori specialisti, sia a non specialisti, il metodo ed i risultati della ricerca scientifica saranno conseguite nell'ambito di tutte le attività formative previste dal corso di laurea.
Tale acquisizione sarà sottoposta a verifica periodica nel corso di appositi incontri seminariali, prove in itinere sia orali sia scritte, nonché attraverso la valutazione della capacità di elaborazione formale della tesi di laurea.Capacità di apprendimento
L'acquisizione della capacità di apprendimento sarà ottenuta attraverso il complessivo iter di studio, con particolare riguardo all'organizzazione del tempo di studio, alla ricerca bibliografica, allo studio dei testi e all'analisi delle fonti, alla partecipazione alle attività seminariali, all'attività di ricerca finalizzata all'elaborazione della tesi finale.
La verifica della capacità di apprendimento avverrà tramite l'analisi della carriera del singolo studente in relazione ai risultati nelle prove di esame in itinere e la valutazione della capacità di apprendimento autonomo dimostrata nel corso dell'elaborazione della tesi di laurea.Requisiti di ammissione
Per l'ammissione al corso di Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, letterature e storia dell'antichità sono richieste le conoscenze generali corrispondenti al possesso di una Laurea di ambito umanistico (Classe delle Lauree in Beni Culturali L-1; Classe delle Lauree in Lettere L-10; Classe delle Lauree in Storia L-42), comprensive di quelle conoscenze preliminari nel campo delle discipline relative alla letteratura e storia dell'antichità greca e romana che permettono di intraprendere con successo un percorso formativo secondo il presente Ordinamento.
Inoltre è
richiesto il grado B2 di conoscenza in una lingua straniera parlata nell'Unione Europea, nonché conoscenze avanzate dei procedimenti informatici sia ai fini della scrittura che ai fini della ricerca di base.
Le conoscenze richieste per l'ammissione sono accertate secondo modalità definite dal Regolamento del corso di Laurea Magistrale.
Ai fini dell'ammissione, oltre alle norme esplicitate nel Regolamento del corso di Laurea Magistrale, si deve dimostrare il possesso o l'acquisizione di una preparazione generale di base nei settori scientifico disciplinari riferibili alle discipline letterarie (L-FIL-LET/02; L-FIL-LET-04, L-FIL-LET/06, L-FIL-LET/08), filologiche (L-FIL-LET/05), storiche (L-ANT/02, L-ANT/03, L-ANT/05, L-ANT/08, M-STO/07, M-STO/09).
Il possesso di questi requisiti verrà accertato anche con colloqui e secondo modalità stabilite dal Regolamento del Corso di Laurea Magistrale.
Prova finale
1.
La Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, letterature e storia dell'antichità si consegue previo superamento di una prova finale, che consiste nella presentazione e discussione di una tesi scritta elaborata in forma originale dal candidato sotto la guida di un relatore, nell'ambito di uno dei SSD presenti nell'Ordinamento del Corso di Laurea Magistrale, per il quale siano previsti insegnamenti nel Regolamento del Corso di Laurea Magistrale e nel quale lo studente abbia conseguito CFU.

Preliminarmente alla determinazione dell'argomento della tesi, lo studente del Corso di Laurea Magistrale deve aver conseguito almeno 30 CFU.
Le modalità per la determinazione dell'argomento della tesi e per la sua preparazione, nonché per la scelta del relatore, sono fissate nel Regolamento del Corso di Laurea Magistrale secondo le linee stabilite a suo tempo dal Consiglio della Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia.
3.
Per essere ammesso alla discussione della tesi elaborata per la prova finale, che porta all'acquisizione di 30 CFU, lo studente deve aver conseguito 90 CFU.
Le modalità dello svolgimento della prova finale sono fissate nel Regolamento del Corso di Laurea Magistrale secondo le linee stabilite a suo tempo dal Consiglio della Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia.
Orientamento in ingresso
Le azioni di orientamento in ingresso sono improntate alla realizzazione di processi di raccordo con la scuola media secondaria.
Si concretizzano in attività di carattere informativo sui Corsi di Studio (CdS) dell'Ateneo ma anche come impegno condiviso da scuola e università per favorire lo sviluppo di una maggiore consapevolezza da parte degli studenti nel compiere scelte coerenti con le proprie conoscenze, competenze, attitudini e interessi.
Le attività promosse si articolano in:
a) autorientamento;
b) incontri e manifestazioni informative rivolte alle future matricole;
c) sviluppo di servizi online e pubblicazione di guide sull'offerta formativa dei CdS.
Tra le attività svolte in collaborazione con le scuole per lo sviluppo di una maggiore consapevolezza nella scelta, il progetto di autorientamento è un intervento che consente di promuovere un raccordo particolarmente qualificato con alcune scuole medie superiori.
Il progetto, infatti, è articolato in incontri svolti presso le scuole ed è finalizzato a sollecitare nelle future matricole una riflessione sui propri punti di forza e sui criteri di scelta.
La presentazione dell'offerta formativa agli studenti delle scuole superiori prevede tre eventi principali distribuiti nel corso dell'anno accademico ai quali partecipano tutti i CdS.
• Salone dello studente, si svolge presso la fiera di Roma fra ottobre e novembre e coinvolge tradizionalmente tutti gli Atenei del Lazio e molti Atenei fuori Regione, Enti pubblici e privati che si occupano di Formazione e Lavoro.
Roma Tre partecipa a questo evento con un proprio spazio espositivo, con conferenze di presentazione dell'offerta formativa dell'Ateneo e promuove i propri Dipartimenti scientifici grazie all'iniziativa Roma 1,2,3 … Scienze;
• Giornate di Vita Universitaria (GVU), si svolgono ogni anno da dicembre a marzo e sono rivolte agli studenti degli ultimi due anni della scuola secondaria superiore.
Si svolgono in tutti i Dipartimenti dell'Ateneo e costituiscono un'importante occasione per le future matricole per vivere la realtà universitaria.
Gli incontri sono strutturati in modo tale che accanto alla presentazione dei Corsi di Laurea, gli studenti possano anche fare un'esperienza diretta di vita universitaria con la partecipazione ad attività didattiche, laboratori, lezioni o seminari, alle quali partecipano anche studenti seniores che svolgono una significativa mediazione di tipo tutoriale.
Partecipano annualmente circa 5.000 studenti;
• Orientarsi a Roma Tre, rappresenta la manifestazione che chiude le annuali attività di orientamento in ingresso e si svolge in Ateneo a luglio di ogni anno.
L'evento accoglie, perlopiù, studenti romani che partecipano per mettere definitivamente a fuoco la loro scelta universitaria.
Durante la manifestazione viene presentata l'offerta formativa e sono presenti, con un proprio spazio, tutti i principali servizi di Roma Tre, le segreterie didattiche e la segreteria studenti.
I servizi online messi a disposizione dei futuri studenti universitari nel tempo sono aumentati tenendo conto dello sviluppo delle nuove opportunità di comunicazione tramite web.
Inoltre, durante tutte le manifestazioni di presentazione dell'offerta formativa, sono illustrati quei servizi online (siti web di Dipartimento, di Ateneo, Portale dello studente etc.) che possono aiutare gli studenti nella loro scelta.
Il Corso di Studio in breve
Il corso di Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, Letterature e Storia dell'antichità si prefigge i seguenti obiettivi formativi, espressi in termini di risultati attesi:
a) l'acquisizione di approfondite conoscenze e di elevata capacità di comprensione critica nel campo della filologia e delle letterature dell'antichità greca e latina e in quello della storia antica e tardoantica, tali da consentire, in un contesto anche di ricerca, l'elaborazione e/o lo sviluppo di idee originali e innovative;
b) l'acquisizione di avanzate competenze nel campo delle metodologie proprie delle scienze storiche e filologiche, nonché delle specifiche tecniche di ricerca richieste per il reperimento e l'uso critico delle fonti letterarie e documentarie giunteci dall'antichità, alla luce dei risultati della ricerca internazionale in tale campo;
c) l'acquisizione di un'approfondita conoscenza teorica e applicata – fondata sulla lettura e l'analisi di testi arcaici, classici e postclassici – nel campo delle lingue e letterature dell'antichità greca e latina, del loro contesto storico e culturale, della loro fortuna in età medievale, moderna e contemporanea, con possibilità di allargamento alla storia antica dell'Europa e del bacino del Mediterraneo, con riguardo anche ai rapporti con il vicino Oriente;
d) l'acquisizione, in riferimento ai precedenti punti, di abilità nell'affrontare tematiche nuove e risolvere problemi ad esse correlati, inseriti in contesti più ampi o interdisciplinari connessi al settore dello studio dell'antichità;
e) l'acquisizione, in riferimento ai precedenti punti, della capacità di integrare le conoscenze e gestirne la complessità, nonché di elaborare osservazioni e formulare valutazioni e giudizi sulla base di informazioni parziali e frammentate, nel contesto di una matura consapevolezza delle responsabilità sociali ed etiche, oltre che scientifiche, collegate all'applicazione di tali conoscenze e giudizi;
f) il consolidamento della capacità di utilizzare criticamente i principali strumenti informatici e telematici disponibili nel campo dello studio dell'antichità;
g) il consolidamento della capacità di utilizzare fluentemente, in forma scritta e orale, almeno una lingua dell'Unione europea oltre l'italiano, con riferimento anche al lessico disciplinare della scienza dell'antichità;
h) l'acquisizione, con particolare riguardo ai precedenti punti, di capacità di apprendimento che consentano, dopo il conseguimento della Laurea Magistrale, di proseguire in modo anche autonomo lo studio nei campi individuati;
i) l'acquisizione di abilità comunicative finalizzate alla trasmissione chiara e razionale, a interlocutori specialisti e non specialisti, delle conclusioni raggiunte, in termini di conoscenze, di metodo e di implicazioni.
Gli sbocchi professionali previsti per i laureati del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, letterature e storia dell'antichità sono in istituzioni specifiche, quali archivi di Stato, Biblioteche, Sovrintendenze, in Centri culturali, Fondazioni, Imprese editoriali, con funzioni di elevata responsabilità; in organismi e unità di studio presso enti e istituzioni, pubbliche e private, sia italiane che straniere.
I laureati del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, letterature e storia dell'antichità potranno altresì esercitare funzioni di elevata responsabilità nei settori degli istituti di cultura e di ricerca di tipo specifico; in centri di studi e di ricerca, pubblici e privati; in istituzioni centrali e locali nell'articolato settore dei servizi culturali; nell'editoria specifica (con particolare riferimento all'attività di traduzione dal greco al latino) e in quella connessa alla diffusione dell'informazione e della cultura storica e letteraria riguardante il mondo antico, classico e cristiano.
Il Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Filologia, letterature e storia dell'antichità fornisce inoltre una formazione pienamente funzionale a tutte le attività collegate con la trasmissione a livello elevato del sapere umanistico, con particolare riguardo alle competenze disciplinari richieste per la professione di docente.
I laureati possono prevedere come occupazione l'insegnamento nella scuola media inferiore e superiore, una volta completato il processo di abilitazione all'insegnamento e superati i concorsi previsti dalla normativa vigente.
Gli sbocchi occupazionali e le attività professionali sopra definiti sono compatibili con l'accesso alle attività classificate dall'ISTAT sotto il codice M.80 (Istruzione), in particolare M.80.21.1 (Istruzione secondaria di primo grado: scuole medie), M.80.21.2 (Istruzione secondaria di secondo grado: licei e istituzioni che rilascino diplomi di maturità), M.80.3 (Istruzione universitaria e post-universitaria), M.80.4 (Corsi di formazione e perfezionamento e altre attività di insegnamento), nonché sotto il codice O.92 (Attività ricreative, culturali e sportive), presso enti pubblici e privati.
Le attività a libera scelta dello studente possono permettere di migliorare la sua preparazione per le prove di accesso al dottorato di ricerca.
Lo studente espliciterà le proprie scelte al momento della presentazione,
tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,
secondo quanto stabilito dal regolamento didattico del corso di studio.

At the end of the course the student will know in depth some important Greek institutions (both public and private, from the archaic to the Roman period), which will have been analyzed through literary, epigraphic, archaeological and iconographic sources.
The student will also learn different skills, useful for verifying the results of another's research and conducting one in first person: he/she will be able to access to the main databases of Greek literary texts and inscriptions and to use some indispensable bibliographic research tools. Both in oral and written communication he/she will have further developed his/her ability to use the specific terminology of the ancient Greek history.

Firstly, this section shall try to reconstruct the different phases of the siege and of the final battle on the 29th of May 1453, in which the Osman Turks of Mehmet II Fatîh brought to an end, at least politically, the Byzantine empire and the eleventh centuries of Byzantine life.
The analysis of the events shall be done by a comparative reading and a precise exegesis of ‘official’ sources of both the sides, namely Byzantine (George Sphrantzes, Doukas, Critobulos, Laonikos Calcondilas) and western sources (Isidore of Kiev, Leonard of Chios, Niccolò Barbaro) but also islamic ones, particularly those of the Ottoman Chroniclers of the cohort of Mehmet II (Tursun Beg e Ibn Kemâl).
To this first group of sources, which, although they are known to the historians, could yet still be given other interpretations, we shall add the exploration of less known attestations, which are either partially edited or still unedited. These attestations are actually memorials of different sort that various observers from different lineage and nations wrote, to be used by powerful people of whom they were or could be considered emissaries: the so-called ‘spies’voices’ that are yet to be considered in the historical evaluation of the battle of the 29th of May 1453.
