20704168 - GENERAL LINGUISTICS 3 (objectives) Typology and Levels of analysis I: knowledge of the inter-relations between the different levels of analysis that are necessary for the description of languages (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics) from a typological perspective. Development of an ability in the identification of the universal mechanisms of language and their different relational in languages belonging to different types. Diachrony: I part: short excursus on the history of comparative linguistics. II part: presentation of the comparative methods – the reconstruction of the Indo-European phonological system through exercises; consideration of the major phonetic rules – analysis of some aspects of Indo-European morpho-phonology; comparison between genetic, typological and areal classification of languages.
