Acquisizione di competenze teoriche ed operative, per formare solide basi culturali in campo scientifico e per descrivere e interpretare correttamente i principali processi geologici.
Gli strumenti didattici atti a verificare l'acquisizione delle conoscenze e capacità di comprensione saranno: verifica della presenza alle attività formative (lezioni frontali, esercitazioni di laboratorio e di terreno); valutazione su prove scritte, pratiche e/o orali, in itinere e al termine delle singole attività formative.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione
Acquisizione delle specifiche metodiche e tecniche operative disciplinari e di competenze applicative multidisciplinari per svolgere attività geologiche di terreno e di laboratorio.
Strumenti didattici di verifica delle acquisite capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensone saranno: attività di laboratorio che richiedono corrette applicazioni di protocolli; idem per attività di terreno in contesti operativi, anche nel rispetto delle norme di sicurezza.

I titoli di studio richiesti per l'ammissione al Corso di Laurea sono determinati dalle leggi in vigore e dai Decreti ministeriali; il riconoscimento delle eventuali equipollenze di titoli di studio conseguiti all'estero è sancito, viste le Leggi in vigore e i Decreti Ministeriali, dal Senato Accademico.
Il numero delle immatricolazioni viene fissato, per ogni anno accademico, in funzione delle strutture logistiche dipartimentali (aule, laboratori sperimentali) che non consentono un numero di immatricolazioni superiori alla capienza delle strutture medesime, per poter garantire l'efficacia delle attività formative, in particolare quelle a forte contenuto sperimentale.
Gli studenti che intendono iscriversi al Corso di Laurea in Geologia devono sostenere una prova di ingresso che verterà su argomenti delle materie formative di base.
Ai candidati che non raggiungono la soglia minima di punteggio stabilita dalla Commissione Didattica Permanente di Geologia, saranno attribuiti degli Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi (OFA).
Le lacune potranno essere recuperate dai candidati attraverso la frequenza a corsi di recupero, al termine dei quali lo studente dovrà sostenere una prova di verifica.
Prova finale
La prova finale è basata sulla presentazione orale di un elaborato scritto redatto su un argomento autonomamente scelto dal candidato.
L'elaborato per la prova finale riguarda approfondimenti di esperienze teoriche e/o sperimentali sviluppate durante il corso di studi.

Le azioni di orientamento in ingresso sono improntate alla realizzazione di processi di raccordo con la scuola secondaria di secondo grado.
Si concretizzano sia in attività informative e di approfondimento dei caratteri formativi dei Corsi di Studio (CdS) dell’Ateneo, sia in un impegno condiviso da scuola e università per favorire lo sviluppo di una maggiore consapevolezza da parte degli studenti e delle studentesse nel compiere scelte coerenti con le proprie conoscenze, competenze, attitudini e interessi.
Le attività promosse si articolano in:
a) incontri e iniziative rivolte alle future matricole;
b) sviluppo di servizi online, realizzazione e pubblicazione di materiali informativi sull’offerta formativa dei CdS (guide di dipartimento, guida breve di Ateneo, locandina dell’offerta formativa, newsletter dell’orientamento).
L’attività di orientamento in ingresso prevede cinque principali attività, distribuite nel corso dell’anno accademico, alle quali partecipano tutti i Dipartimenti e i CdS:
• Giornate di Vita Universitaria (GVU), si svolgono ogni anno nell’arco di circa 4 mesi e sono rivolte agli studenti degli ultimi due anni della scuola secondaria superiore.
Si svolgono in tutti i Dipartimenti dell’Ateneo e costituiscono un’importante occasione per le future matricole per vivere la realtà universitaria.
Gli incontri sono strutturati in modo tale che accanto alla presentazione dei Corsi di Laurea, gli studenti possano anche fare un’esperienza diretta di vita universitaria con la partecipazione ad attività didattiche, laboratori, lezioni o seminari, alle quali partecipano anche studenti seniores che svolgono una significativa mediazione di tipo tutoriale.
Partecipano annualmente circa 4.000 studenti; nel 2021 in via telematica hanno partecipato 7.000 studenti;
• Autorientamento, un progetto destinato agli studenti delle IV classi della scuola secondaria superiore e che si svolge ogni anno nell’arco di 5 mesi.
Si sviluppa in collaborazione diretta con alcune scuole per favorire l’accrescimento della consapevolezza nella scelta del percorso universitario da parte degli studenti.
Il progetto, infatti, è articolato in incontri svolti presso le scuole ed è finalizzato a sollecitare nelle future matricole una riflessione sui propri punti di forza e sui criteri di scelta.
Aspetto caratterizzante il progetto, inoltre, è la presenza degli studenti seniores dei nostri Corsi di Laurea che attraverso la propria esperienza formativa possono offrire un punto di vista attuale rispetto all’organizzazione e al funzionamento del mondo accademico.
Nell’anno scolastico 2020-2021 la realizzazione del progetto, in modalità online, ha dato la possibilità a 20 scuole – dislocate sul territorio romano e laziale – di partecipare;
• Attività di orientamento sviluppate dai singoli Dipartimenti, mediante incontri in presenza e servizi online;
• Incontri presso le scuole: l’Ufficio orientamento ha ricevuto inviti a partecipare ad eventi di orientamento da parte delle scuole per un totale di 23 inviti (8 su Roma e 15 Lazio/Extralazio).
Concordemente con quanto stabilito in Gloa (Gruppo di Lavoro per l’Orientamento di Ateneo) la procedura è stata la seguente: ogni invito è stato inoltrato ai referenti Gloa presso i dipartimenti e le scuole, a fronte delle diverse possibilità offerte, hanno liberamente scelto di partecipare anche alle proposte del nostro Ateneo.
Si evidenzia che anche in questa attività, come per le altre attività di orientamento, hanno partecipato varie scuole di altre Regioni, grazie alla possibilità dell’online.
• Orientarsi a Roma Tre nel 2021 si è svolta in modalità mista in presenza al Teatro Palladium per l’evento inaugurale e a distanza dalle aule dipartimentali per la presentazione dell’offerta formativa dei dipartimenti.
Il portale dell’orientamento realizzato nel 2020 è stato aggiornato e ne è stata realizzata una versione in inglese: orientamento.uniroma3.it.
Rappresenta la manifestazione che riassume le annuali attività di orientamento in ingresso e si svolge ogni anno alla fine dell’anno accademico.
L’evento accoglie, perlopiù, studenti romani che partecipano per mettere definitivamente a fuoco la loro scelta universitaria.
Durante la manifestazione viene presentata l’offerta formativa e sono promossi tutti i principali servizi di Roma Tre, le segreterie didattiche e la segreteria studenti.
I servizi di orientamento online messi a disposizione dei futuri studenti universitari sono nel tempo aumentati, tenendo conto dello sviluppo delle nuove opportunità di comunicazione tramite web e tramite social.
Inoltre, durante tutte le manifestazioni di presentazione dell’offerta formativa, sono illustrati quei siti web di Dipartimento, di Ateneo, Portale dello studente, etc., che possono aiutare gli studenti nella loro scelta.
Infine, l’Ateneo valuta, di volta in volta, l’opportunità di partecipare ad ulteriori occasioni di orientamento in presenza ovvero online (Salone dello studente ed altre iniziative).
La commissione didattica permanente organizza azioni specifiche attraverso la nomina di una commissione all’orientamento e anche affidando a singoli docenti compiti peculiari per l’orientamento.
L’organizzazione e le azioni specifiche intraprese da ciascuna CDP sono riportate nell’apposite sezioni del sito web del dipartimento.
Le principali forme organizzative dell'attività di orientamento sono: la presentazione dei percorsi formativi del CdS agli alunni delle scuole secondarie, mediante diffusione di materiale a stampa e, per le scuole collocate nel bacino di utenza prevalente, attraverso incontri diretti con gli allievi interessati; una specifica attività di accoglienza e orientamento agli studi universitari rivolta alle matricole; una struttura stabile, incaricata di provvedere all'orientamento degli studenti per la scelta degli orientamenti professionali e per la compilazione dei piani di studio.
Per quanto riguarda l’attività più strettamente orientata all’illustrazione del Corso di Laurea in Scienze Geologiche e la potenziale attività lavorativa del geologo, la sezione di Geologia partecipa a differenti iniziative organizzate dall’Ateneo come la Giornata di Vita Universitaria (GVU) che si svolge generalmente nel mese di febbraio e l’Open Day di Ateneo che invece si svolge nel mese di luglio.
Partecipa inoltre da anni al 'Salone dello Studente' che si svolge ogni anno alla Fiera di Roma nel mese di novembre.
Tuttavia, la sezione di Geologia ritiene indispensabile e preliminare all’orientamento strettamente legato alle immatricolazioni al Corso di Laurea, la creazione di una coscienza geologico-ambientale diffusa nella popolazione e, soprattutto, nelle nuove generazioni.
Per questo, ogni anno a settembre la Sezione di Geologia del Dipartimento di Scienze partecipa all’organizzazione della Notte della Ricerca con numerose postazioni che illustrano varie tematiche geologico-ambientali.
A partire dall’anno 2015/2016 il Piano Lauree Scientifiche (PLS) esteso anche in ambito geologico ha permesso di rendere visibile la lunga esperienza che la sezione di Geologia del Dipartimento di Scienze ha maturato negli ultimi anni nel campo della formazione, dell’orientamento e della diffusione della cultura scientifica sul territorio di Roma e provincia.
Sono stati sviluppati percorsi didattici rivolti sia agli studenti che agli insegnanti, sia attraverso attività sperimentali nei laboratori che utilizzando l’escursione didattica come strumento per far conoscere la peculiarità geologica della città di Roma.
Ogni anno partecipano a questo progetto circa 100 studenti e 70 insegnanti.
Dal 2017 i docenti dei Consigli Didattici di Geologia sono coinvolti nei progetti di alternanza scuola/lavoro (PCTO).
Le attività proposte sono rivolte agli studenti delle scuole medie superiori e finalizzate ad una loro maggiore sensibilizzazione al territorio nel quale vivono, auspicando così un loro maggiore futuro interesse nel corso di laurea in Scienze Geologiche.
Nell’anno 2021/2022 a seguito dell’emergenza COVID, non è stato possibile effettuare i progetti PCTO.
Azioni intraprese 2021-2022: potenziamento delle attività di orientamento esistenti, con una capillare divulgazione delle tematiche inerenti le Scienze della Terra nelle scuole medie superiori e svolgimento, a partire da giugno 2019, di una campagna di sensibilizzazione alle tematiche delle Scienze della Terra, attraverso i più comuni mezzi di informazione (Radio, social network e presso le scuole).
Il CdS partecipa anche a partire da novembre 2020, alla campagna di sensibilizzazione per le Scienze della Terra promossa a livello nazionale dalla Società Geologica Italiana.
Sempre a seguito dell’emergenza COVID-19, l’evento “Orientarsi a Roma Tre”, che rappresenta la manifestazione che chiude le annuali attività di orientamento in ingresso e si svolge in Ateneo a luglio di ogni anno, è stato effettuato in modalità online.
In tale ambito, è stata organizzata una presentazione generale del Corso di Laurea da parte di alcuni docenti, una camera virtuale di incontri tra i ragazzi e studenti di Roma Tre e dimostrazioni virtuali di attività di laboratorio.
A novembre è stata organizzata la Notte Europea dei Ricercatori, e a febbraio 2022, la Giornata di Vita Universitaria”, entrambe in modalità mista (presenza e online).
Nel corso dell’anno accademico 2021/2022 presso il Dipartimento di Scienze dell’Università di Roma Tre sono riprese le attività in presenza con le Scuole nell’ambito delle attività di Diffusione della Cultura delle Scienze della Terra (Progetto Piano Lauree Scientifiche)
Sono stati proposti 7 seminari di aggiornamento su temi delle Scienze della Terra, tenuti in presenza presso il Dipartimento di Scienze ma seguiti anche online sulla piattaforma Teams.
Nel corso dell’anno accademico 2021/2022 sono stati effettuati seminari per l’orientamento in ingresso rivolti agli studenti delle scuole superiori sui seguenti temi: Tettonica delle Placche, Cambiamenti climatici, Geologia e Società.
Nel periodo Gennaio-Marzo 2022 sono stati effettuati 8 seminari nei seguenti licei superiori: Malpighi, Joyce, Cannizzaro, Catullo, Virgilio, Montale, Tullio Levo Civita, Lico Monterotondo.
Il Corso di Studio in breve
Lo scopo del percorso formativo è di garantire l'acquisizione di solide basi teoriche e pratiche negli ambiti delle Scienze Matematiche, Fisiche e Naturali e in particolare della Geologia di base, che consentano sia di entrare nel mondo del lavoro in ambiti geologici e affini, in ruoli tecnico-esecutivi, sia di proseguire gli studi indirizzandosi verso specifici aspetti della Geologia.
Le competenze acquisite permettono di accedere alla libera professione, previo superamento dell'esame di stato di tipo B, nonché ad impieghi presso enti pubblici, istituzioni, aziende, agenzie di ricerca e studi professionali che si occupino di conoscenza e gestione del territorio, delle sue risorse e della caratterizzazione di geomateriali (svolgendo mansioni tecniche).
Il corso prepara alla professione di: Tecnici geologici - (3.1.1.1.1) e tecnici del controllo ambientale (3.1.8.3.1).
Il Corso di Laurea è a libero accesso.
Il corso di studio prevede una prova scritta di valutazione della preparazione iniziale (quiz a scelta multipla) che verte su competenze nelle aree di Matematica, Fisica, Chimica, sulla comprensione di testo e sul ragionamento logico e per la quale è previsto un corso di preparazione.
Il test di accesso al CdS di Scienze Geologiche è integrato con un test di inglese della durata di 30 minuti, coordinato con il CLA (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo).
Per chi raggiunge la soglia del B2, la prova scritta andrà completata con una parte orale, sempre coordinata con il CLA; da sostenere una volta perfezionata l’immatricolazione.
Per gli studenti che non raggiungono tale soglia, varrà indicato un percorso didattico.
L’esito insufficiente della prova comporta l’attribuzione di Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi (OFA) da assolvere tramite la frequenza dei corsi di recupero Matematica 0, Chimica 0 e Fisica 0.
Il Corso di Laurea si sviluppa nell'arco di tre anni per un carico didattico complessivo di 180 CFU.
Il piano delle attività didattiche si articola in:
- attività di base: Matematica, Fisica, Chimica e discipline informatiche e geologiche;
- attività caratterizzanti la laurea: Geografia fisica, Geologia, Paleontologia, Petrografia, Mineralogia, Geomorfologia, Geochimica, Geofisica generale e applicata, Geologia applicata;
- attività affini e integrative: approfondimenti geologici anche con una forte caratterizzazione di terreno;
- altre attività formative comprendenti: la prova finale, la conoscenza di una lingua straniera e la partecipazione a seminari/ stages interni;
- attività di libera scelta da parte dello studente.
Le studentesse/studenti hanno l’opportunità di acquisire una borsa di mobilità internazionale tramite concorso (Erasmus).
E’ inoltre prevista la possibilità di acquisire CFU tramite tirocini formativi presso strutture professionali qualificate, pubbliche e private, italiane ed estere, anche nel quadro di accordi internazionali, oppure tramite tirocini interni presso i laboratori del Dipartimento o tramite la frequenza a seminari professionalizzanti.
Le studentesse/studenti hanno l’opportunità di proseguire il percorso formativo con la Laurea Magistrale in Geologia e Tutela dell’Ambiente e a seguire con il dottorato di ricerca in Scienze della Terra.
I principali sbocchi occupazionali sono dati dalla compartecipazione ad attività professionali in diversi ambiti, quali cartografia geologica di base, rilevamento delle pericolosità geologiche, analisi del rischio geologico, prevenzione e sicurezza in ambito geologico ed ambientale, indagini geognostiche dirette ed indirette, reperimento di georisorse, valutazione dello stato di conservazione dei beni culturali ed ambientali, analisi e certificazione dei materiali geologici, valutazione di impatto ambientale, rilievi geodetici, topografici, oceanografici ed atmosferici, esecuzione di prove e analisi di laboratorio geotecniche, mineralogiche e geochimiche, lavoro autonomo del geologo dopo il superamento dell’esame di stato e l’iscrizione nella sezione B dell’albo dei geologi (geologo junior).
Lo studente espliciterà le proprie scelte al momento della presentazione,
tramite il sistema informativo di ateneo, del piano di completamento o del piano di studio individuale,
secondo quanto stabilito dal regolamento didattico del corso di studio.

Introduction to Geology

Overall, the course aims to give to the student a general overview of the knowledge of the Solar System and planet Earth. Provide students with the simple knowledge on lithogenetic processes and cartographic elements, through laboratory and field experiences. Provide the cultural and lexical bases for further study The training objectives of the first semester concern: the acquisition of the general concept of the Earth as an Integrated System, the concept of Deep Time, the knowledge of the lithogenetic cycle and the relationships between endogenous and exogenous processes, the acquisition of the basic methods for macroscopic recognition of the main minerals and igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. The training objectives of the second semester concern: knowledge of Earth's seismicity and associated risk, knowledge of the basic elements of the deformation of rocks and of the main sedimentary environments on our planet, the acquisition of the concept of Earth in continuous evolution. The acquisition of basic skills for reading simple geological maps and the construction of geological sections starting from cartographic or well data. The acquisition of basic knowledge on the origin and structure of the Solar System and the main motions of the Planet.

The course of study aims to provide knowledge to understand the mechanisms that determine the natural variability of the climate system and the causes of the ongoing climate change induced by the use of fossil fuels and land use change. The course aims to provide 1) in-depth knowledge of the global climate system (atmosphere-hydrosphere-cryosphere-lithosphere); 2) to provide knowledge on natural climatic variations and the causes of climate change induced by anthropogenic forcing on a short-medium term scale (from ten days to million years) from historical and geological archives; 3) provide knowledge on future scenarios of climate change globally and in Italy.

The course aims to provide an overview of the planet Earth, introducing the basis for understanding the main geological aspects that characterize our planet. The course will also deal with the interactions between endogenous and exogenous processes in order to understand how these processes influence the shapes of the landscape. Moreover, the course aims to provide the tools to acquire knowledge about the Solar System and its planets, defining the planet Earth as an integrated system and highlighting its role within the Solar System. During the didactical laboratories and field excursions students will learn to understand the different aspects of Italian territory, with particular regard to its environmental value e fragility

(objectives)
The course aims to provide an adequate overview of the scientific contents of Earth Sciences. The course deals with the modern aspects of Earth Sciences, framing geological phenomena in the framework of the most modern theories and illustrating the hazards and risks associated with natural phenomena such as, for example, seismic and volcanic phenomena, also referring to the geology of the Italian territory. The course also aims to provide the basis for understanding the rocks cycle and their rocks genetic processes through laboratory and field experiences. During the didactical laboratories and field excursions students will learn to understand the different aspects of Italian territory, with particular regard to its environmental value e fragility.
