MEDICINAL AND TOXICOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY
(objectives)
The course of Medicinal and Toxicological Chemistry II is integrated with the previous course of Medicinal and Toxicological Chemistry I for the treatment of the Chemical-Pharmaceutical aspects of the main classes of drugs. The aim of this course is to provide the student with knowledge in the chemical-pharmaceutical field: SAR, interactions, mechanisms of action of the main drugs used for the therapy of various diseases. The main knowledge acquired will be: l-knowledge of the concepts of mechanisms of interaction with the specific targets that characterize the medicinal chemistry of traditional drugs; - chemical-pharmaceutical knowledge of the drugs treated in the course, of the relationship between the chemical structure of the drug and its biological activity (SAR), the mode of chemical interaction of the drug with the biological substrate.
