History of Women in the Contemporary Age

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge of the female condition in the contemporary age. In particular, the twentieth century ratifies an ineluctable and continuous process towards women's emancipation. Overwhelmed by war, revolution or dictatorship, they are spectators and actresses of a formidable upheaval between genders. Western women, long after men, enter political-institutional roles. The course dedicates a specific part to the role of women in institutions representative.
At the end of the course the student: - has acquired the knowledge of the facts that characterize contemporary history and the profound changes that have occurred in society between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. - has developed a functional analytical capacity for understanding the political, institutional and cultural changes of the contemporary world.
