Biodiversity and Environmental Protection Laboratory
(objectives)
The main objective of the Experimental Laboratories of Biodiversity and Environmental Protection is to introduce three-year students to environmental biology in its many aspects. These laboratories will lead the student to discover the importance of basic and applied research in environmental biology studies, exploring animal and plant biodiversity and its different uses and application aspects in the fields of biomonitoring, management and conservation of fauna, flora and habitats. In addition to classroom lectures, through practical laboratory and field activities, the student will learn and experiment with zoological and plant identification and sampling techniques, as well as analysis of the biological data collected. Prerequisites Knowledge of the basic concepts of Botany, Zoology and General Ecology acquired with the courses of Botany, Zoology and Ecology, provided in the Biology CdS or with the courses of Botany and Plant Conservation, Zoology and Protection of Animal Biodiversity, Ecology and Environmental Sustainability, provided in the CdS of Sciences for the Protection of Nature and Environmental Sustainability.
