CLE-LAB
(objectives)
The CLE-LAB 2024-25 edition is organized around the theme: the challenges of the Italian economy, which is addressed from various disciplinary perspectives. The objective of the course is to provide the necessary tools to understand the main characteristics of the structure of the Italian economy, its evolution in the medium to long term, and its future prospects.
Students will attend 10 seminar-lectures for a total of 20 hours (mandatory attendance), with one lesson per week, during the first semester (October-December 2024). The course theme will be addressed in the following areas:
The figures of the Italian economy, the role of statistics;
The characteristics of the productive structure and the development model followed by Italy, its positioning in the international economy;
Macroeconomic policies, with particular attention to the European context;
Institutions, the budgeting process, and public finance decisions.
The course also includes bibliographic information seminars, to equip students with the ability to correctly use the resources available in the library for research and writing papers.

Students will prepare group papers and presentations, selecting a specific topic under the supervision of one of the course coordinators. Once the final paper is approved by the responsible instructor, CLE-LAB awards 9 credits (there is no grade). The course requires mandatory attendance. Details regarding exam procedures will be provided at the beginning of the lessons.
