The students are expected to:

Understand what is the sustainable human development paradigm and the differences with the dominant economic paradigm;
Understand the capability approach and sustainability and be able to utilize their concepts and tools;
Be able to assess and analyze the various dimensions of sustainable human development by using the capability approach
Learn how to measure sustainable human development and capabilities;
Become familiar with the international literature and the main sources of data on the topic and learn how to access and use them;
Comprehend the current empirical evidence and trends at global and national levels;
Understand the policy implications of the sustainable human development paradigm and design the public action.
