(syllabus)
El teatro de Calderón en la imprenta, del siglo XVII a hoy Starting with two canonical titles of Calderonian theatre, one tragic, the other comic, the course will show in a first phase the characteristics and problems of the transmission of theatrical texts in the printed editions of the Baroque period, with the direct examination of digitised and paper copies. Subsequently, and as an introduction to the second part of the course, the problems posed by 19th and 20th century modern editions will be examined. In the practical part, students will be provided with the basic methodological tools to produce critical edition essays (limited to punctuation and modernisation of spelling and annotation), with basic notions of ecdotics (collation of witnesses, compilation of an apparatus of variants, analysis of significant errors). The main supports available online for the study and edition of Baroque theatre texts (historical dictionaries, databases, corpora) will also be illustrated.
