| PHARMACOLOGY AND PHARMACOTHERAPY
(objectives)
The course aims at providing knowledge of drugs, considering their mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, adverse reactions, use in the clinical practice.
At the end of the course, the student must have acquired knowledge and understanding of the interactions of drugs with living organisms in physiological and pathological conditions, useful for carrying out the profession of pharmacist.
The knowledge acquired by the student can therefore be applied in his professional practice, both in pharmacy and in research laboratories, as well as in departments of development, production and control of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food products.

Mechanism of action, pharmacological effects and side effects of the main classes of drugs: drugs acting on the autonomic nervous system; drugs of central nervous system; drugs for the cardiovascular system, blood, and kidney; drugs for the respiratory system; drugs for inflammatory processes; drugs for the gastrointestinal system; Insulins and hypoglycemic agents; drugs for dyslipidemia; antimicrobial chemotherapy. Drugs and pregnancy. Methodologies of basic and clinical pharmacological research, including both theoretical and practical aspects.
