Course Title: In Search of an Author: Expression of Subjectivity and the Educational Gesture as a Poetic Act
Learning Objective: To guide students through an exploration of the poetic, dramatic, and transformative dimensions of education, understood as an artistic practice. The course invites participants to read the educational act as a poetic gesture—one capable of listening to both the tragic and the possible in the human experience, and of supporting the shaping of the unfinished through relationship, care, and creative imagination.
Here are some of the key themes that will be developed through study materials and live classroom dialogue: The educator as artist: one who listens to and welcomes the unfinished aspects of the other, accompanying them toward more authentic forms of expression. Pedagogy of expression as a space for interiority, a site for elaborating lived experience and creatively transforming pain. The educator-artist as one who guards silence, welcomes emotion, and gently guides the act of creation. Education as relational art: grounded in listening, intuition, responsibility, and care. Like the artist, the educator does not work with replicas, but with unrepeatable singularities.
The educational scene as a stage for possibility, where pain, the search for meaning, and freedom find a space to appear and take shape.
