STRUCTURAL DESIGN
(objectives)
Design of Structure structures is a course included in the third year of the first level degree in civil engineering. The course aims at providing the students with the fundamental knowledge and tools to design reinforced concrete frame structures, including stairs and floors and assess their safety level with respect to Ultimate and Serviceability Limit States. At the end of the course, the students will be able to: 1) perform the structural analysis of reinforced concrete frame structures also by beans of computational tools; 2) identify the load patterns to assume in calculations and checks; 3) design and assess the performance of reinforced concrete frame structures including floors and stairs, with respect to ultimate and serviceability limit states, and 4) produce design drawings.
