The 2025–26 edition of CLE-LAB is organized around the theme "Gender Issues: Economics, Law, and Society," which will be addressed from multiple disciplinary perspectives. The aim of the course is to provide students with the necessary tools to study gender-based discrimination in the Italian economy and society, its historical evolution, and the policies that have shaped its development.
The topic will be approached from three different perspectives: economic, legal, and statistical methods for quantitative analysis.
Students will attend 10 seminar-style lectures, for a total of 20 hours (attendance is mandatory), with one session per week during the first semester (October–December 2025). The course content will be organized around the following topics:
1. Gender discrimination in the labor market: participation rates and the wage gap 2. Discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in developed economies: international research and studies on the LGBT population in Italy 3. Statistical techniques for research on gender issues and “hidden populations” for studying the conditions of the LGBT population 4. Gender protection in the context of human rights 5. Gender equality certification and D\&I (Diversity and Inclusion) policies within the framework of sustainability 6. Gender dimension and new risks to health and safety in the workplace 7. Family law and gender equality 8. The right to sport and gender transition
The course also includes bibliographic training seminars aimed at enabling students to make proper use of the library’s research resources and to write academic papers.
