Relocations
(objectives)
The course aims to analyze the phenomenon of relocations with particular reference to its labour law implications. The objective is to provide participants with a view as comprehensive as possible of the topic in question, through the analysis of the legal framework of reference and, in particular, of the regulations recently introduced in the EU and national legal systems which address, in a more or less direct and explicit way, the issue of business relocations and labour law protection. Particular attention will also be devoted to the examination of the main case law on the subject, relating to events of company closures with significant socio-economic impact, and to the principles formulated by jurisprudence also with reference to other contiguous labour law institutions, in order to provide participants with the necessary basic legal knowledge to enable them to deal with the interpretative problems of the regulations and to resolve concrete situations by correctly applying the notions learned. The purpose of the course is also to develop a critical analysis approach by the students, in order to provide them with the necessary tools to evaluate the causes and elements of complexity related to the current issue in question.
