PEGORETTI ANNA
(syllabus)
Building on Italo Calvino's reflections in his "Lezioni americane," the course will initially explore the distinctive characteristics of the literary experience and its specific formative and educational functions. Subsequently, it will address some issues related to the sharing and transmission of literary tradition in both educational and popular contexts. Students will be tasked—individually or in small groups—with selecting and investigating specific case studies (for example, a comparative analysis of the treatment of a particular author, genre, or specific issue in the main textbooks and high-quality popular literature products) and developing their own proposals. Special attention will be given to the use of narrative techniques in the construction of educational and outreach pathways.
(reference books)
Students will read in their entirety: - I. Calvino, “Lezioni americane. Sei proposte per il prossimo millennio”, Milano 1988 (qualsiasi edizione); - S. Giusti, “Didattica della letteratura italia. La storia, la ricerca, le pratiche”, Roma, Carocci, 2023; - L. Rodler, “Con altre parole. La divulgazione umanistica”, Venezia, Marsilio, 2023. Additional bibliography for further study, for catching up on missed lectures, and for non-attending students will be provided during the course. Everyone is requested to register and refer to the course's Moodle channel, which will be used for communications and the exchange of teaching materials.
