(syllabus)
This course aims to provide students with a high level of understanding of consumer law in the context of market regulations, preparing them for careers in the public, private, and academic sectors. Consumer law now finds only partial discipline useful in regulating the subject in the Consumer Code. When a consumer operates in a specific market—or in a "regulated" market such as those overseen by independent administrative authorities—the protective rules can vary, with the ultimate goal of European and national legislators being the efficiency of the market and business activity. Therefore, the focus will be on how the interaction between market rules and consumer rules operates today, through the examination of principles and rules of general relevance.
