Introduction to Seismology and Geodesy. Kinematics and dynamics of the seismic source. Seismic cycle and geodetic methods applied to the study of crustal deformation. Contribution of seismology to the study of tectonics and geodynamics. Local seismic response effects related to surface geology and seismic microzonation. Seismic hazard and seismic codes. Seismometry, geodetic measurements and data analysis. Visit to the seismic monitoring system and the laboratories of the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia. Possible field trip to the epicentral area of the 2016-17 Central Italy seismic sequence or field experiment, including data acquisition and analysis.
