FUNDAMENTAL OF STRUCTURAL
(objectives)
To provide basic knowledge of physical-mathematical models suitable for understanding the structural behaviour, with applications to simple cases of mechanical systems in two dimension. Course topics range from rigid body kinematics and equilibrium to linearized model of deformable beams, by means of the notions of constitutive relationships and internal stress states, leading to the mechanical characterization of both stiffness and strength in beam systems.
