The seminar aims to provide a comparative history of public law in Europe from the French Revolution to the end of the 19th century. This period was characterised by intense institutional changes linked to the European repercussions of the Revolution and the formation of national states and constitutional and administrative systems. The aim is to examine the extent to which European countries experienced similar developments and debates in the field of public law. Both constitutional and administrative law will be approached from a comparative perspective in order to provide a common basis for understanding the dynamics of public law in the 19th century.
