1) History of health protection. The national dimension: from a matter of public policy to a fundamental right and community interest. 2) History of health protection. The international dimension: from the management of transnational threats to health as a means of maintaining peace and security among nations to the affirmation of the fundamental right to "possession of the best possible state of health." 3) The effects of globalization on the right to health. Focus on communicable diseases and international instruments for their management. 4) "One Health" from approach to strategy. History of a concept and its evolution in the era of pandemics.
