We will try to explore the limits and opportunities of new forms of theater criticism (from daily newspapers and periodicals to those provided by new technologies, as well as radio and TV). For all these forms, in addition to the first-hand practice by the students, the participation of experts practicing all the different forms of criticism cannot be excluded.
Shows scheduled in Rome in the same period will be recommended (the theaters will be asked for a reduced ticket for the students of this laboratory), and artists may be invited to compare themselves with. Each student will have to expose the instrumentation and potential at their disposal, and will have to put their experience and goals to good use in the tests that will be woven into the exercises. Including the comparison between themselves and with the teacher, and with the critical heritage gradually provided by the information and in-depth bodies.
