The course is divided into two complementary modules: managerial module and statistical module. The managerial module is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of the topics of Total Quality Management. Topics: • Historical evolution of QM and emerging trends in the supply chain context • The voice of the customer • The voice of the market • Process Management and Improvement • Quality Management Models (MBQA, EFQM) • Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015) • Lean Six Sigma
The main aim of statistical module is learning the main statistical tools to look at quality management problems with quantitative glasses. Topics: • Basic statistical tools • Inferential tools for quality control and improvement (hypothesis testing on one mean/proportion and on two means/proportions difference) • Variables control charts • Process capability • Attributes control charts • ANOVA
The course includes self-assessment evaluation in-class, team-work and field visits.
