The course aims at illustrating some fundamental opics of legal comparison from a historical perspective at the same time attentive to current problems.
In the first part of the course an overview of the major non-Western legal traditions will be offered, while in the second part of the course the focus will be on common law and civil law within the Western legal tradition.
The lessons will combine the frontal model and the dialogic model, requiring students to make an effort of active participation. This formula implies that, before each lesson, the student prepares the relevant readings.
