(syllabus)
The course is divided in two parts.The first is devoted to learn the process of formation of the modern politics in the XIX and XX Century, with reference to history of political cultures, representation, citizens' organization and participation through parties, movements and associations. There is a specific focus on the birth of mass parties in Italy, fascism and parties' role in rebuilding democracy after the Second World War. The second monographic part, examines the birth, development and crisis of the political myth of the Nation in Italy's contemporary history.
