(syllabus)
PROGRAM 12 CFU:
The course aims to examine the concepts of world and consciousness and will focus in particular on the vision of reason in Leibniz.
It will illustrate the concepts of matter, substance, memory, virtuality and inborn ideas, emphasizing the Leibniz polemic against Lockian sensualism.
A reading seminar will be an integral part of the course.
In order to develop skills in analysis and textual criticism the course includes a seminar on textual reading of Leibniz's epistolary (the letters will be chosen by the professor at the beginning of the course).
The reading seminar is addressed to all students both to those who must achieve 6 cfu and those who must achieve 12 cfu.
