The laboratory intends to provide tools, knowledge and skills necessary for bibliographic research and non-fiction writing. The purpose of the laboratory is to guide students in the various phases of planning, realization and writing of a critic and research text, in particular the degree thesis. A total of 36 hours of activities are planned, divided between lectures and laboratory activities for the acquisition of specific skills. The first lessons will focus on the correct use of the most popular writing programs, on bibliographic research techniques, with particular attention to digital resources, the main electronic directories and computer databases, both of the University and national. Guided practical exercises will be provided, in which each student will be assigned a bibliographic research on a specific topic, which will end with the drafting of a bibliography. The remainder of the course will provide useful tools for the analysis of the literary text and will address the methods of non-fiction writing. The knowledge of the rhetorical and stylistic elements of the poetic and narrative text will be refined, indications will be provided on how to quote, how to write a note, how to argue and carry out a thesis, how to consolidate the relationship with the bibliography, how to formalize one's work according to criteria of originality and scientificity, finally how to revise the documents and correct the drafts. The course will provide students with useful tools for analyzing the literary text and will introduce them to different methods of non-fiction writing. The knowledge of the rhetorical and stylistic elements of the poetic, narrative and theatrical text will be refined, in addition, indications will be provided on how to quote, how to write a note, how to argue and carry out a thesis, how to consolidate the relationship with the bibliography, how to formalize one's own I work according to criteria of originality and scientificity, finally how to review the documents and correct the drafts. The reading of a contemporary novel is foreseen, followed by a dialogue with the author, with which the students will have the opportunity to confront and test themselves in testing their sensitivity as readers and their critical skills.
