Acquisition of the ability to "orient" in the ancient world (knowledge of the physical, anthropic and political geography of Greece proper and the regions connected to it on the political and cultural level). Familiarization with the development of the geographical knowledge of the ancients (forms of representation of geographical space, starting from the primary odological perception and the geometrizations of the ecumene up to the full cartographic abstraction; interweaving of these representations with political history, ethnography, etc.). Knowledge of related literary and para-literary production (peripli, periegesi, geographical excursus in historiographical works, geometry, gromatic writings, etc.). Acquisition of elementary knowledge of historical topography (with particular reference to the functional spaces of the polis and its chora).
