The main educational objectives of the course are the following:
- providing the basics of sound and light physics;
- providing a historical and theoretical panorama on the nature of light, from the ancient world to modern theories and applications;
- providing a historical and theoretical panorama on the nature of sound, from the ancient world to modern theories and applications;
- illustrating the phenomena connected with generation and propagation of sound waves, with particular reference to the voice and musical instruments;
- illustrating the phenomena connected with generation and propagation of light waves, with particular reference to artificial light;
- understanding the perceptual processes of sound and light in relation to the physical aspects and the nature of the human ear and eye;
- illustrating the fundamental mechanisms which are at the base of sound and light technical applications in the entertainment field.
