20710663 HISTORY OF MIGRATIONS in Cultural strategies for cooperation and development LM-81 COLUCCI MICHELE
(syllabus)
During the course, a reconstruction of the history of international migration in contemporary times is proposed, analyzing in particular the peculiarities of the Italian case. The periodization embraces the historical phase between the second half of the 19th century and the present day. The history of migration in Italy in the contemporary age is read in the light of the connections with the economic, social and cultural dimensions of the history of contemporary Italy. Special attention is given to the topic of migration policies. In the perspective of deepening the links between the history of Italian migrations and the evolution of international cooperation paths, special consideration is given to the history and evolution of the social actors who played a leading role in the great seasons of development of mass migrations: national and international institutions, social organizations, movements, associations, trade unions. At the same time, the environmental perspective is emphasized, identifying the impact of mobility on Italian territorial contexts at the environmental level in both places of departure and places of destination.
