(objectives)
Graduates in Languages and Literatures for Teaching and Translation obtain advanced knowledge and understanding in all the subject areas of their training in order to 1) consolidate and develop their competence in European and American Studies, with particular attention to their literature of specialisation; 2) deepen their knowledge of the two foreign languages chosen, achieving a heightened competence in the language of specialization and an advancement in the second language; 3) reach enhanced awareness of the linguistic features of their language of specialisation, both from a diachronic and a synchronic perspective; 4) reach an adequate knowledge of the most advanced methodologies for the analysis of literary texts; 5) handle confidently the theoretical-practical tools for teaching and for translation.
Interpretaciones del América hispánica/ Interpretations of Hispanic America is one of the characterising modules of the programme. It aims to further consolidate the linguistic-communicative skills, as well as the specific and critical skills directed towards the study of classical interpretations of Hispanic-American literatures and cultures. It allows to further refine the theoretical-methodological competence in order to reach a fully autonomous critical appreciation of national literatures, against the background of other Latin American literatures. In this respect, the module aims to raise awareness about the dynamics inherent to transculturality and to deepen the skills acquired in the field of teaching literature and translation. At the end of the module students will be able to: analyse autonomously texts and phenomena of Hispanic-American literature and cultures also in a transcultural dimension, by applying the theories and competences learned; communicate at an advanced level the disciplinary contents.
Requirements: Students must have already taken Archivos de la memoria: literaturas, historia y política en Hispanoamérica/ Memory archives: literatures, history, and politics in Latin America.
