(objectives)
The course aims to offer the conceptual, theoretical and institutional bases to understand the functioning of energy markets and to grasp the great change underway in the energy world.
The course is divided into three parts: Part I examines from a global perspective the energy transformation that began at the beginning of the new millennium; Part II analyzes the economic foundations of energy markets; Part III considers some economic tools to regulate the market, reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable growth. Finally, it dwells on the policies activated in Italy to accompany the energy transition (in the Next Generation EU) and analyzes the evolution in the European Union (Green Deal) to integrate the markets of member countries and fulfill international commitments to decarbonization (from Kyoto to COP 26).
