(syllabus)
The class is dedicated to a particular genre of italian literature: the prosimeter. Through the analysis of extracts taken from different texts - such as Dante's Vita Nova, some writings from Boccaccio, Sannazzaro's Arcadia, the Canti Orfici by Dino Campana and so on - I will try, along with the students who are going to participate, both to reconstruct the history of the genre and to identify the peculiarities of the works identifiable as prosimeters.
