A poet's second job

The Nineteenth has been the century of criticism. Particularly, in the second half of the century some poets have been practicing criticism as a parallel activity, sometimes better paid than literary work. Poets criticism, sometimes understated by poets themselves, showed peculiar characteristics in comparison with academic discourse on literature. Some examples from Ungaretti, Montale's and other poets work will be shown during the course.
