To know the fundamental elements of John Austin's legal and political thought through the reading of the work The Province of Jurisprudence Determined (1832). At the end of the activity the students will be able to contextualize the work of Austin in the debate of the time and to grasp the elements of discontinuity with the English legal tradition, as well as subsequent conceptual developments.
