Università Roma Tre

The course (fall semester 2021-2022) is dedicated to the topic "A World History of Architecture". It is subdivided into three parts. The first focuses on the main ancient Greek and Roman buildings and monuments. The second one is dedicated to Medieval architecture. The last module offers an overview of Early Modern architecture.
Lectures and seminars will be dedicated to the leading figures of the history of architecture (patrons and architects), to the main ancient, medieval, and Renaissance buildings and to cross-disciplinary subjects (the city, the villa, the palace, architectural treatises).

The bibliography is divided into general texts (testi adottati) and essays on a specific topic (bibliografia di riferimento). On the occasion of seminars and conferences, other bibliographies will be delivered.
