What are Fuzzy Sets; extension of the usual logical operators to the fuzzy sets. Operator families, their meaning. Direct use of the fuzzy logic for sensory signal processing and in the control. Fuzzy implications. Different types of fuzzy controllers. Mamdami controller and Takagi-Sugeno controller. When a fuzzy controller is better than a traditional one?
Uncertainty representation. Belief and Plausibility, Basic Mass Assignment and the Dempster-Shafer rule.
Learning fuzzy systems: the ANFIS network.
Matlab exercises and demonstrations, project development, small personal works.
