21210031 Economia delle industrie creative in Economics L-33 CAUSI MARCO
(syllabus)
The course is about cultural and creative industries and organizations, and moreover about institutions involved in their regulation. The course has an applied approach and learning objectives focused on the development of professional abilities (statistical sources, methodologies for the analysis of the demand, business and organizational models, methodologies for impact evaluation of projects and programs, case studies). At the core of the first part of the course there are the international statistical standards for estimating the economic dimension of the sector and the demands for cultural and creative goods and services from the various economic subjects (households, firms, public sector, external subjects), with an analysis of Italian and international data and an illustration of the main interpretative models suggested by the economic literature. In the second part the focus is on the different economics activities, and corresponding markets, for cultural and creative products: cultural heritage, museums and cultural sites, arts markets and contemporary art, performing arts, cultural industries (publishing, broadcasting, film and audiovisual, music, video games). Some cross-cutting topics receive particular attention: labor markets for cultural and creative occupations; intellectual property rights; business models of cultural and creative activities; public policies for culture and cultural and creative industries; challenges (opportunities and risks) coming from the digital technological revolution; impact of the pandemic crisis.
