Structural safety and actions on structures: Structural reliability and technical codes, format of codes, actions on structures, load-resistance factor design Structural analysis: Simplified models and methods for the structural analysis of plane and three-dimensional framed structures and truss structures, use of software for structural analysis, validation methods for structural analysis Steel structures: Materials, failure criteria, ultimate limit state analysis of simple and composed structural elements (compression, tension, bending and axial-bending), the geometric non linearity and 2nd order effects, the stability of axial loaded beams, with and without imperfections,: the Eulero beam problem, analysis of bolted and welded joints, the checks according to national technical code. Reinforced concrete structures: composition of fresh mixture concrete, properties of hardened concrete, time-dependent behavior of concrete, mild steel for concrete, steel-concrete bonding, reinforced concrete beams: no-cracked concrete and homogenization (I phase), cracked concrete analysis (Phase II): elastic analysis of reinforced concrete beams under axial and axial-bending conditions, ultimate limit state of reinforced concrete beams (phase III): analysis of a rectangular section subjected to axial, axial-bending, shear and torsion. Serviceability limit states.
